ye great stuff RETRO, iv,e never been a big 3d fan but i think there growing on me, iv,e had a few in the past 3d88 i remember being one of them and i was very pleased with the sound but not to sure about the look.
after seeing the pics you put up now i think i may try and get me one

3D5 is pretty good sound wise for a small box has some bass aswell!!

picked up a minty 3d30 for a few quid a while back and it's the worst sounding piece of s**t iv'e ever heard. just grabbed it cos it was what i thought was a steal.

then after hearing i believe i was robbed lol

ive just parted with yet another 3d80 lol-got it cheap only to find that the middle super woofers arent working properly....so passed it off as a project for a pal and he gave me a minty air band radio instead

yup, the 3D30 is the poorest sounding hitachi 3D I've ever heard also.

OK, it's a bit better than a standard 2 speaker boomer with 4" drivers, but considering most of the rest of the range, it's below par, even for a 3D.

interesting you mention the 3d30 i42-i have one-and im amazed at how high you have to push the volume up to get any level of normal sound out of it-but im that short on boxes-let alone good ones right now-that i have no choice but to hold on to it!

Fantastic post ..retro.

Great pictures and tech info.

I have a 3d80 bought for £1.69 ish from the tidy tip !!! Im not a fan of the cheap black plastic,but the sound makes up for the looks .
