I always loved the sony sports line:
- WM-AF 54 (left)
- WM-F 35 (middle)
- WM-AF 59 (right)
- WM-F 5 (front)
with my Skullcandy GI Headphones
In a way my first Sports Walkman (the F 35) made me hunting for mor classic walkman and boomboxes, too. In the beginning I just wanted one boombox to record some new tapes for the walk. Wasn´t able to stop
Back to my walkman, here´s a Panasonic RQ-JA 63 with matching passive speakers. The 5-Band-EQ is a nice feature.
And finally some of the big ones.
- Grundig Beat Boy 100 (left)
- Crown SZ-22F (middle)
- Schmid WM 135 (right)
About the Skullcandy headphones shown in the first picture: You should check their page.
skullcandy.com They have some crazy designs! I´m thinking about bying some more of them just because of the look. With all the nice grafics and freaky colors I guess the will be a good collector item in 20 years. =)
Wow Super drmz
Pretty collection, thanks for show it.
The picture with the SONY SPORTS is so beautiful.
I like it.
Even the headphones is coloured suitably.
Geil!!!
Oh man... I fell in love with the nice white CROWN.
I remember too much this walkmans, because they are cheap and for some of us in the school days in the mid 80's is the more decent walkman type we can purchase. Sweet years.. oh yeah !
This is mine, a CROWN SZ-11 cassette player only, I had one similar when I had 15 years old. I remember the cassette door was broken but I still use the walkman in the school with a piece of tape to avoid the cassette falls outside the walkman... I don't remember what happened later to this walkman.
For this reason, this is one holy walkman for me !!!
Thank you renzgi and tranxmetal for your comments.
It´s funny, that you had the crown as a kid, tranxmetal. I had a big siemens walkman with a digital tuner on the tape door. Maybe the ugliest walkman ever build, but my dad worked for siemens and he was getting stuff cheaper. Later when I saved some money I bought an slim case aiwa with cable remote control. I loved it, but for collecting it´s to newschool in my eyes. It was been stolen some day and I went with minidisk later...
About the crown. I just saw it on ebay and just spent 1 euro. The guy, who sold it lives in berlin, too - just 5 minutes away. Easy grab and his white look eats every ipod for breakfast
Nice Crown player-even the headphones look a bit like Sony MDR-3.
I also like the metal headband type of over the ear headphones commonly seen with 1980's cassette players:more more durable than those which have a all-plastic headband.
Headphones with a metal headbands are very comfortable-I own a Sharp pair of the above type of headphones, these came with my JC-108 (got that one for a dollar) and these sound great.
Finally-very nice group of Sports Walkman and like the collection even better because you use Skullcandy headphones
