Just got this never seen one before, it's a silver M 5550 really, beautiful condition and works very well. I'm guessing it's Japan home market only?

Dave great addition and the silver is much more rare I think than the more common black.   Your photos are excellent quality and love all the angles.  Pristine looking machine and working well too lucky man.   You just need to add a red one although extreamly hard to find these days.  I think its a better player than the Sony TPS-L2 and a great first Walkman for Sanyo to enter market with. 

You old dog, you know exactly how nice these are.  Probably one of three walkmans I'd take to my grave.

Someone really has stored that unit perfectly. Sanyo did have some great little unit to compete with. One of my all time fav's was the M-G34DTA.

Rugged little box with both left and right volume controls. A boon for someone who has a slight hearing deficit in one ear. I used and abused that poor thing and it never let me down...until it fell in the lake while I stood on the dock, fishing.

I tried to revive it but after 3 days I pronounced it dead
