btw --got a brand new pair of decent 10" woofs from
parts express --
did a trial fit & sound test -
output was TREMENDOUS on just the 10 D cells --

it will be JVC powered --
the M70 amps put out more then enough --

Ira, superb effort but I can't help thinking you'd be better off sourcing 'similar' items rather than holding out for original RC-550 parts.

thanks cris --agree this will be on ongoing multi-year search -
bumped every decade
but -- in the meantime --there is a huge world of available cabinet
hardware and trim rings that will look ' good enough '

Take a look at TCH redbenjoe, they sell abs and fiberglass laminated plywood very similar to the texture of the RC-550 and all the trimmings as well.
