Kenwood? KENWOOD CP-D7. OEM by sharp. Looks like more a CP-C7.

Does it have Dolby C?

Hmmm. Not a D7 or a C7 by Kenwood, and it does not have dolby C :-(

And it's not a Kenwood and not a Sanyo...

No, no. It's not a EX2000 and not a PX1000. But it's the only player that has a brushed metal body like this two...

Well, it's a difficult quiz, and I already knew.

so here's the answer: it's a very rare unit that I think it was only released in asian markets: the SHARP JC-K70.

For me it's one of the most elegant players ever made, comparable to the gorgeus SONY EX-20.

In fact, you guys did so well suggesting the PX1000 and the EX20, as they are IMHO the only players with brushed metal body available.

And that gave me a idea for a new thread ;-)

Damn, I was only a couple of steps behind you.....  I knew it was a Sharp and I was looking through old scans only this morning and the JC-K70 came up but in black and the embossed text wasn't clear, curses, curses.

I included it in the 'brushed metal series' walkman:
