Made a small day trip (about an hour & a half, into Pennsylvania) yesterday morning to pick up the (semi) famous Rising 20 20. Found on Craigslist and it seemed like a good deal at $55 (about 35 GBP). Everything appears to work. Needs a bath, as is the case with most of these radios we find. I don't quite have the balls/nerve/etc to completely disassemble and soak the plastic in my tub, but it will get a thorough outside cleaning, as well as the tape heads & rollers. These are some "before" pics. I'll take some "after" pics maybe tomorrow after said bath & new aerials are installed.

great boxes the risings, just a shame they have dodgy cassette keys that are usually always out of line.
and you can bet your life the feet are usually broken off, as in the case of yours, too fragile imho, still a great box with great looks and good sound, hope you do her justice Tardpie

Tardpie its not so difficult and i think you might like it in the end to disassemble it.
I m saying its not difficult because about a month ago i disassembled a rising 2005 which i think its quite similar with the rising 2015.
Check this link and i hope you make it!

Well, the cleaning is done. Looks a bit better. Gently straightened out those bent keys, too. Got new aerials on. Unfortunately, the cassette deck plays at a slow speed, and the right channel is quieter. Help, please.

All better! The Rising 20/20 is up & running and as close to 100% as it is ever going to get. And as always, I'm ready & willing to trade for a Sharp VZ-2000! Bison? Anyone?
