Weekend fun recording a vinyl record to a cassette tape via FM channel 88.
Replaced the belt in my WM-F2 yesterday.
I also got new belts for my wm-2 on this German website:
They have reasonable price. You can easily lookup the belts on their site by brand and walkman type.

Cool Portable unit the PS-F9 from Sony,
along with the PS-F5 innovative and nicely designed.
Its not easy to find one these days and even if you find,
it ll probably cost you a small fortune!
I d use this pic as an avatar pic Kin looks so cool
with the red vinyl record!

not many people know the difference between a f-5 and f-9. So you can record from the turntable using fm 88 frequency? Cool. What if 88 has noise? Can you swich to a clear alternative?

There's a little hole where you can ajust the frequency with a little - screwdriver. Counterclockwise is to lower the frequency. I can't go higher than 88 (radio stations in the way), neither less because my wm-f2 can't receive lower than 87 (Japanese devices go as low as fm76). It has a little humm but it's acceptable.
I could switch to line in on a D6C for better quality.

After a few symptoms of the trackinghead not moving up, I decided to open up the PS-F9 for a closer look at the action. Managed to disassemble with least effort of unscrewing a few screws. Nice thing is you can leave two bolts on as a hinge for flipping the front part up (if it's laying down on it's back).
Seems like the previous owner/seller has used a rather self-made rubber band (rough cutting edges one side).
Lucky these belts are can be ordered on ebay.
Unscrewed bottomplate, controlpanel, sides of the front assembly.
Flip up.
The place where the trackingbelt goes.
Runs perfect
