Here is my recently purchased Pioneer PK-R7AW walkman. As you can see from the pictures, this one is pristine. It even has the protective sleeves still in place on the ends of all the connectors. My guess is it was purchased back in the day, and put away in a cuboard and never used.
This item was badly listed with a buy it now price of 55 euro. There was only one badly taken picture on the listing, so i really didn't know what i was getting. So i was amazed when i opened the package yesterday and seen it's condition. It even has all it's accessories, including the really cool looking headphones.
The belt needs replacing, so i will have to send it to one of our repair experts to have it replaced. I won't tackle this one myself for fear of damaging it.
This is one of my greatestest purchases in many years. I really love this beast of a walkman!

Derek you have added a most spectacular investment to your great collection. Finding one of these boxed complete and all in such fine mint condition indeed your luck is riding high. I have two red ones with one totally mint but no accessories. retrodos completely rebuilt and some new caps one of mine about 3 years ago it functions perfect to this day. It truly is I believe the heaviest Walkman made. To say this is SOLID like a rock is understatement. As you say it is a "BEAST".
I am curious how do you find the power output of yours. Mine at just 5 with Porta Pro's has them at a volume I can barely stand on my ears ( and I love loud)! I have some old early Walkman with power of 4 batteries and none can push the volume this player is capable of. Easily drives lower efficiency headphones to volume too. Couple this to the Sony SEQ-50 and IMPRESSIVE is the word.
If you do search under Pioneer PK-R7AW this model number paul.difford did topic on this model. I added many photos of all Pioneer's and list of known Pioneer Walkman models.

Thats a really nice find minty. The fast forward and rewind buttons in the lid remind me of a mid 1980's Toshiba walkman.
