Great addition to your boxed collection especially with orig. headphones. Have two of them and find the sound one of the best of all the sony's and the orig. headphones are excellent sounding although light on bass they are great quality for the day and now. Since its the first Walkman with logic controls and remote on headphones finding the HP is priceless. Enjoy. The belt replace is pain and its a really thin belt... dont understand the logic behind the really thin belts.. they dont last at all even much after a rebelt from stretching. Players with thicker shorter belts or two of them many still work even today.

Other than DocP no I dont. www.turntableneedles.com I know a lot of members get belts from them but you need to know the dimensions of the belt and shape to order from that site. Good luck

I wondered who snagged that one, went too high for me, was hoping that nobody else saw the text "with original box", I was clearly mistaken.

It's a real treat, this one, with the buttons all on the top like that.
Sony really following through on a design concept, & hang the expense.
Didn't know there was a headphone remote - now I'm even more impressed. I thought they didn't happen until the late 80s.
Walkman Central (http://www.walkmancentral.com/products/wm-7) says the auto reverse mechanism is optical. Damn, this really is a home hifi deck crammed into a smaller box, isn't it?

I know it's weird to reply on an old thread, but I just discovered the remote control function on the wm-7 by accident.
My headphone jacket's soldering on the leftchannel was loose which causes the unit to constantly switch reversemodes. Then I found out that the unit did originally came with a remote control .
