XLR or RCA setup

after all these years, i prefer an all xlr setup. in the end, it's all pro-stuff.
the highs and lows are better, the separation is better, xlr has got that live and studio feeling, xlr is better in everything...
what are your experiences?
rca or xlr

Balanced connections are used to reject hum, external noise and interference on long runs not for greater sound quality. Balanced is better for studio use, reason it's very important in sound recording and production because it allows for the use of long cables while reducing susceptibility to external noise.
If your system is using XLR then of course use XLR, but never a good idea to mix the chain up. If you are using adaptors to convert over to RCA to XLR, or mix matching? DON'T!! You need the whole chain to be balanced, if not it doesn't make sense. Plus your find alot of overpriced audiphille crap don't use real balance XLR.

everything in the chain is balanced. it's all pro stuff. when i plug the same cdp in my balanced setup=studer or rca/revox. there is a difference in separation of the instruments, has got more of a live feeling, etc. perhaps studer are better components, but to my ears it's also the difference between xlr/rca

This has been a debate for a long long time. My gear does have xlr on the amp, preamp, and my dac2. I just havent tried it that way. Some say they hear a difference some don't. It all just my have something to do with synergy in the system.
