Hey Andy i can see you are more into Hi-Fi gear now.

Great scans.

andyboombox - 2013-04-24 02:27

hopefully they are a little better this time gang,as i did them this time lol-i just cant believe how interesting vintage hifi really is,and this is now taking over as my passionstill dont mind boomers, and will aquire them when i can,but i can honestly say my heart lies with hifi.gonna get myself a nice vintage seventies rig now, comprising power amp, tuner, cassette deck,8 track deck, turntable and a pair of decent speakers.i was thinking of something like rotel or pioneer for the main components and a pair of celestion ditton speakers.....if i can track it all down at boot fairs lol as ebay and silly prices just aint an option

once again, any anecdotes or further scans you want to add from your mags or brochures, then please feel free!

andyboombox - 2013-04-24 02:28

cheers deech my friend, yeah im hooked.damn this could get addictive

deech - 2013-04-24 02:35

Well Andy i surely like the look of late 70s pioneer tbh !

They must perform nice .

traveler - 2013-04-24 02:41

still have my hifi here from that era of 70's 80's

deech - 2013-04-24 02:44

This i would like to see traveler

andyboombox - 2013-04-24 02:46

in the recent past while i was experimenting with hifi deech,i did have various pieces of pioneer kit,and they all performed well, including the most awesome pair of headphones ive ever heard (forgot the model number though)-i think they were se305 or something like thathi traveler, what make is your hifi/components?

deech - 2013-04-24 03:07

Andy you mean you dont have them anymore???

andyboombox - 2013-04-24 03:13

no mate i dont, this was a while ago, while i was trying to get into hifi, and i think i gave them away with a boombox i parted with, like a foolbut ill find some more

deech - 2013-04-24 03:31

I know you can source some nice separates Andy !!

bison - 2013-04-24 05:45

ive got too much old seventies audio stuff, gonna be offloading it all soon to make some space

brutus442 - 2013-04-24 06:01

Thanks for trip back in time Andy!

Great to see the old ads again...

northerner - 2013-04-24 07:23

I had pleny of nice Technics stuff around 1980 or so and only got rid a few years back after leaving them in my loft for years never able to bring myself to part with them.  Some went at a carboot for a couple of quid, the last pieces got chucked...this is before I had a clue there was any value in this stuff...d'oh.  Don't really want to replace them tho as I'm pushing my luck with the space I'm using for boxes as it is

Do like to see these scans though Andy so thanks for going to the trouble to do them

hey brutus442,no problem buddyi have lots more i can do in the near future, but its taking ages to read through all these old hifi mags lol!

si.....shh!im not wanting other people to know they are collectable,or bang goes the current cheap prices at car boots

andy....if you have a fully working teac a450 cassette deck then id be interested

thanks for all the replies guys

bison - 2013-04-25 06:05

i have a sony Andy similar in design to that teac in the loft, also got the amp and tuner that went with it

andyboombox - 2013-04-25 06:17

cheers andy, but looking out for the a450 now buddy, got my heart set on oneheres a pic guys

Teac A-450if you spot one cheap then let me know!

lav.loo - 2013-04-25 08:24

hmm that looks rather tasty Andy, iv'e always liked the look of early 80's gear tbh but that does sway me somewhat you can bet it's top notch quality and sound, love them needles aswell. best of luck getting one and i will keep my eyes open for ya

radio.raheem - 2013-04-25 19:55

Nice scans andy lad.....can't blame ya looking for some proper hifi gear mate....most boomboxes don't sound that good even the m90 so if your looking for good sound lad boomboxes arn't the answer.....hifi is the way to go.....although i don't even use my hifi gear anymore and that includes my 3k technics amp lad....just lost interest in most things......enjoy the buzz while it lasts mate....more interesting than boomboxes as we both have had the top of the tree there..

andyboombox - 2013-04-26 03:16

hi buddy, yes weve both been there and done the big ones ehthe loss of boombox interest has been coming for a while now,the last few i had just came and went....but like you say old lad theres much more depth, much more meaning and clarity to a hi fi,especially a vintage onewill have to scan up the full technics brochure i found last week for you tim lad,ill do that for you next weekdates to the late 70s early 80s i think....and cheers azz, that teac deck is a monster,as big allegedly as one of the early, top loading video recorders....had loads of them similar to it but just not that onethey sold for a DISCOUNTED price of 200 quid when new, full suggested retail was nearer 300 on them, and in 1974 that would have paid your deposit on an e type jaglisten to me,full of pearls of wisdomso at that kind of price its gotta be good!!!!!just hoping to spot one on the car boot.....and a nice thorens turntable, and maybe a nice rotel tuner/amp and celestion ditton speakers.....who knows!!!!

lav.loo - 2013-04-26 03:31

I promise you this Andy, if i'm ever lucky to come across that teac it's yours free bro, here's to hoping

nickfish - 2013-04-26 04:19

It looks nice alright but in the days pre- electro-magnetic compatibility I would have thought that those tapes stored in the top panel would have been erased over time!

andyboombox - 2013-04-29 05:21

your right about the demag issue nick,so as and when one turns up ill not be using the tape storage on top, thats for surejust bought a handsome sharp sg400 music centre from 1977 to keep me on while the component bits come together
