BBE For the Home Audio System!!!

Ever since I have started collecting Walkman, Aiwa with BBE or Barcus Berry Electronics have quickly become my favorite sounding units.  The crisp highs that this proccessor makes is just heaven to the ears.  So I went on a mission to find one for my home system.  I searched and search to no avail, found plenty for the rack or professional equipment for sale.  I found all kinds of info that at one time BBE made a unit called the BBE ARS or Audio Restoration System.  Problem is that either no one bought them or they were just thrown to the wayside.

Well after months of searching I found one on Craigslist in Colorado.  I call the guy up and found out it was his fathers unit who had passed away and was selling off his system.  He wanted 40.00 for the unit so I offered him 60.00 with shipping and today it arrived.  The unit powers on so I am very excited to get her home and plug my tape deck (Aiwa AD-F770) in and see what she does to the home system environment.  If it is anything like my PX505 then my tapes should sound like heaven at home with out having to use my walkman as a home deck.  Here are a few pictures of the Unit.

Does anyone else have one of these or had experiences with this type of processor?  Love to hear your reviews.

Hi marty,

I'm another happy owner of a BBE rack for my stack. I agree with you totally that it's awesome to have it for the home system, being a total fan of the AIWAs with BBE.

Casually I got mine this week for cheap and it sounds really well. Better that BBE walkmans in fact, thanks to the Lo-contour knob that adds presence in the bass.

Mine has two separate channels and act as a two mono but of course it can be used as stereo.

it's a professionally oriented unit as you can see by it's connectors:
