Hi, i'm new to the forum and am reconditioning a Sony Walkman WM-30(Black Model) and when i first got it i found the belt had got jammed inside and stretched and i have having trouble finding a replacement. I've tried eBay about 3 times and they always seem to be wrong, I have found that the belt no. 3-315-405-00 (I think). any help on where to get one would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Doc, I'm a newbie to the forum and I need the belt(s) for a Toshiba KT-AS10 and hopefully, the best way to replace it (them). As far as I know, it's never been opened since my wife bought it many years ago.
Thank you,
George

Hi Doc, also new to the forums here, I have only just started collecting, I have 3 boxes at the moment with a fourth on the way (thanks to Michiel for the tip). Two of them need new belts, I can give the model names if needed but what I would really like is some sort of pack, chosen by you with the most useful selection of belts, is this something you would consider? Feel free to shoot me a pm with details and cost etc, any help greatly appreciated.

Looking for several belts for the Aiwa HS-J08/J500 and the Aiwa TP-S30. Seems the thickness of the HS-J500 belt is about .75/.8mm. I need to string the HS-J500 to find the length. Have no clue on the TP-S30 as I have not taken those apart yet. Hopefully you might know offhand the sizes required for these units. Looking for like 5 belts each.
Thanks
Xenawise

Hi DocP, new member here from Canada. I've been searching for a replacement belt for my vintage Sony WM-10 that I bought new back in early 80s and it looks like you can supply the 3-315-405-00 or an equivalent. Is it too much to ask if you could PM me with cost to purchase?

Hi DocP,
I'm new to the vintage Walkman world and will be soon upgrading a WM-DD11 with new SMD electrolytic caps. I thought I should also replace the belt while I'm inside the player.
Do you have the correct belt or equivalent? (# 3-499-042-99 per the service manual)
I'd appreciate a PM with the particulars. THANK YOU for your help!

Hi DocP,
I have been recommended to find you for belts, and judging by the success of your post, I think I came to the right place.
I am looking for a belt for an Aiwa HS-PX900. It has not arrived yet, and am just getting things going as it should be here soon. The original part number from the manual is 86-550-284-010.
I am hoping you will be able to help this noob out!
Cheers!!

Hello DocP,
I just bumped into thread for a requirement that I have been looking for. I recently bought a brand new Sony M-909 microcassette recorder. Apparantly it needs a new belt because of its age. I was wondering if you could help me with an assortment of various size belts.
If not, just a few one for M-909. It is a square cut belt. looks like it is thinner than 1mm and the diameter is approx equal/marginally short of 1 pound coin. I can wear it over a 1 pound coin/5 rupee indian coin.
I can send a picture too or if there is a better way of measuring it I am happy to provide. Please let me know what more info would you need to help me provide with a replacement belt.
Regards
Praveen

OK! So I've tried to source belts for Sony Walkman for over a year now having collected over twenty models that I desired in my youth.
No success however. Although it is more a case of distrust.
It looks like I can be helped here.
As I said, I have quite a few but the models I want to get working first are the twin deck WM-W800 requiring two belts, an almost pristine WM-7 which arrived this week and a WM-R2 recording jobbie.
I will pay ab...so.....lutely anything.
Err! Within reason.
Can someone help?
walkman.boy - 2014-03-13 14:33
Oh yeah! Wouldn't mind a link or access to a service manual for the WM-7 and WM-R2 as well if anyone has such data. That would be much appreciated.

Hi, I'm looking for belts for the tiny Sanyo JJ-F4, an Aiwa HS-PS610 and a Viking SRC-7495 boom box. I wonder if you can help?
Pointing to Service Manuals would be very handy too. Thanks!

Hi DocP,
I need a few sets of wm-10 and wm-f20 (same) belts as thin as possible.
Tried the thicker ones, but the tension is too large.
It's around 0.5mm. Just let me know what options you have.
Best regards,
Kin

...every now and ten when I think about fine board-member DocP I remeber the time a few years ago wheen we sneaked together throug those areas in Chennay, India a non-citizen wouldn't find - or if: never find out - with those tiny little shops - 1 meter wide, 4m deep, everybody specialized in some kinda parts - a "sewing-machine-sparepart-dealer" next door to a "cell-phone-doctor", a "ripped dvd-specialist" andd a fine sorted banana-chip-dealer -
I can actualy imagine one of those shops over and over covered with black little rubber-rings, ALL sizes and Prakash sitting happily right in between at a 75cm wide and 30cm deep repairdesk covered over and over with dismanteled walkmen and dentist-surgeon-tools :-)
DocP - you rock
praveen - 2014-07-16 14:06
Oh Yes!!
He definitely rocks!
I haven't met him yet but i have promised to see him on my upcoming visit to India!
Cheers!

Hello,
I need two replacement belts for my Sony Walkman WM 34. Both flat (square) cross section - one is approx 100mm circumference and the other is approx 110mm but I guess these are stretched so may need slightly smaller.
Does anyone know of a supplier in the UK?
Thanks,

Hi DocP,
I am in need of belts for WM-F2085 and FX52. I do not have the sizes as they have disintegrated. I stay in Goa, India, but local stockiest do not have them as most have not heard about them.
Also, I have a D-34 discman, which spins but the CD is not able to be read. I suspect it may be beyond repair if its a lens issue as I got it off olx. Any tips how to proceed?
Thank you.

Hi DocP. Just new here so here we go. I require belts for a few walkmans that I have acquired over recent months. A Sony wmfx673, Aiwa HSPC202 and a Panasonic RQX11. I also have a WMD6C and wondered if you could service this at some point. It has an issue whereby if you touch the cassette lid the sound will cut out, if you touch it again it will come back on. The tape still plays all ok. I also think it should sound a little better than it does so a tune up may be necessary together with new belts etc. I probably wont need it doing until October when funds more available. Let me know if this is poss. Thanks

Guys, I see DocP hasn't chimed in for a few days. He's one of our oldest members and has a 100% record so please be patient, he'll be along soon to deal with your queries. In the meantime please read one of the wrinkled Womens magazines on the table in front of you.
