Hello All,

Could somebody help me to find out the belt for my Panasonic rq-sx30. I measured my old belt and the length is 40mm (diameter is about 25mm) and the cross-section diameter is 0.4mm square. Do you think that my dimensions are correct? I was not able to find it on the internet. Where and how can I buy it?

I'm in France and I need belts for the following devices:

 - Sony WM-2 (Reference from service manual is "3-578-222-00" and dimensions are 44 x 0.9(mm)), corresponds to 5.4 inches in length according to turntableneedles.com

- Sony WM-FX70 (Reference from service manual is "3-365-765-01") Thickness should be 0.018"-0.022"

- Toshiba KT-VS1 (should be the same than the one for Sony WM-2 according to turntableneedles.com)

- Toshiba KT-S2 (should be 4.6 inches in length according to turntableneedles.com) Thickness unknown - I guess it should be about (or less than) 0.9mm.

- Panasonic RQ-L305 (Reference from service manual refers to an obsolete part Nr.) The belt is broken, but I can estimate the length (107.5 mm, thickness less than 1mm (square belt)), or by measuring the belt path using a non-extensible thread (Path = 110mm)

Please let me know if I need to purchase these belts separately, or if a kit would be preferable.

Hello Doc P, I'm new here today.

I have an AIWA HS-J02 I purchased new in 1983.  If my memory is correct the belt broke back in 1988.  I just put batteries in it again and the radio is great and the motor spins, but there is no belt to run a cassette.

How can I find a replacement belt for this?  Is there anyone here who services these wonderful ancient walkmans?

Hi, need belts for Sony Walkman WM-BF23. Trashed the originals, in the picture there's random rubber wire double wrapped (which almost works but doesn't feel ok).

Trying to measure the width of the groove… is difficult as it narrows deeper. Total thickness of the golden gyro wheel is 2mm, which makes me think I don't need these 0.6mm thick walkman belts.

Diameter of the motor-gyro belt path: 42mm.
Diameter of gyro-capstan belt path: 54mm.

I could just order a random set of belts from ebay, but this forum system is more exciting Do you ship to finland?

Helpful if you could specify the diameter/cut length of the size required by spooling a length of twine along the belt path...no hassles sending it across to Holland

where i find that  info..

From your image, the belt diameter looks to be much smaller than 54 or 42 mm. Looks like 30 mm or even less. May be I'm wrong, what do you think?

Hi DocP!  Nice to meet you!  I have several Sony Walkman units that need belts and I hear you're the man to go to.  Here's what I have along with original Sony belt part numbers from the service manuals:

1.  WM-2  Sony belt # 3-578-222-00
2.  WM-F2085  Sony belt # 3-351-599-11
3.  WM-AF64  Sony belt # 3-341-267-01

Hopefully you have these at a nice price and can ship to Pennsylvania, US.  Thank you.
