The Sony WA-55 must be a contender this is a large machine.

i did a little measuring and found out my sanyo isn't my largest player. i think that, for it's size, it is the heaviest. the biggest i have is a national(panasonic) rx-2700. i have been measuring everything except the protruding buttons and controls. it measured 88mm X 94mm X 35mm. that is around 40 square in. i will let somebody who is better at math check my numbers out. anything with the wiremesh protruding from the front i didn't measure on any player either. the sanyo 6060 looks like a strong candidate but i don't have one to measure. looks like sanyo could build them small and build them large.

johnedward - 2010-02-13 16:35

My list shows the Sanyo M6060 at 5th largest. I dont think the RX-2700 can qualify as rules state NO INTERNAL SPEAKER.

mrp32dave - 2010-02-13 23:38

I Didn't read all the the rules the WA-55 has an internal speaker. I'll post a picture of all my biggest that meet the criteria.

mrp32dave - 2010-02-14 04:59

Here's my 9 biggest from left to right:

Alba Aquaman AQA-1
PORTA-A-SOUND SMC809
Toshiba KT-R2
Sony WM-D6
Infinity Intimate RS002
Ferguson Escort 3T23
Sanyo M-G32
Cybernet Mini Concert PS-101
Philips Skymaster D6611

For mine it will be between the KT-R2, WM-D6, Skymaster and the Aquaman and maybe the Sanyo, I will have to measure them the Aquaman will be difficult to measure due to it's shape.

that wa-55 sure is a sleek looking something. if i ever come across one i don't think i would pass it up. i,m afraid i am one of those who didn't read the rules also. my old 2700 got a good work out anyway. the original belt has finally started to slip on tight tapes. i sure hope that belt isn't burried in the center.

johnedward - 2010-02-14 20:41

Dave wow looks like another CLONE has been found. Your Alba Aquaman and my Unisef AF-46 Aquasports look identical. Wonder who made the original ALBA or UNISEF?
Well as promised here are pictures of my top 11 biggest walkmans. Dave I measured only the main body did not include the center flange all around player or other parts that extend out to hard to do and its already HUGE enough volume.
