Ah what was Sony thinking.... I guess after 20 years little was left to create something original and different... VIOLA the "BEAN" inexpensive players the EQ series. In 99 the EQ9 was released in Orange and Green having a single speaker housed in the door and a unique open mesh front. For a $1 I could not pass it up and it works great. Why is it when you pay lots of money for player it rarely works as described and the cheapest purchase ones usually work perfect.
SONY EQ-9 " BEAN"
I am green out of envy
one question keeps popping up in my head and this is it. why is it that the vast majority of the cassette players sold in the united states are 3 colors ? they are yellow, black and silver. WHY THE HECK DID THIS HAPPEN? i guess this fact will forever remain the same.........
One must wonder why generally color was just not made on walkmans. My guess George is 50% of walkmans are BLACK another 35% SILVER/Grey next BLUE or RED 10% and remaining colors 5%. Only speaking of METAL bodied as plastic we all know the heavy use of YELLOW but yellow metal body is very rare.
Color over time in many items sold often increases sales. Hell look at IPOD colors seems far more are color than black or white or silver. Guess we will never know the thinking on this during the 80's and 90's
In past many months I have purchased very few walkmans due to serious financial difficulties. But being green I did bid and get lucky recently winning a SONY WM-EX77 in a pastel green for $15.
Will post pictures when it arrives.
