Sony 12 Walkmans of Christmas Tree - New member

johnedward - 2009-01-12 20:12

Greetings to such a fine community of collectors. I first want to thank the founding members and others for their efforts here and other Walkman sites that have allowed me in exactly 3 months to have 59 Walkmans many collectible I hope. A knowledge base that has been indispensable. AgentOrange recently commented on new members collection picture that he loved a GRAND ENTRANCE. Hope I continue tradition with my unique twist on the Twelve Days of Christmas Sony Walkman Tree. Ok you all dont want to know that the top two fell out of TREE as I was putting others below. OMG !!! Yep I nearly had heart failure but had put double layer of pillows all around bottom of tree in case.... still awful feeling. So I pressed on with my German/Russian heritage stubbornness and got them all precariously perched for picture ( do not recommend this be tried again). And here you have the Game begins. Who can name the 12 models in tree first ? ? ? Stereo2go/AgentOrange/Autoreverser/Walkgirl/DocP and all the challenge is made. The pic is orig. 12 megapixal hope it loads so should allow enlargement for the game players.
One hint Stereo2go you mentioned in Classic Walkman museum this unit was your favorite Sony and my model from Europe has EQ and FM plus TV !
I will post pics of each as you guess them.
When all 12 identified will post my entire collection placed as a HEART shape to celebrate Valintines Day. Yeah I know what a romantic. My best to you all and looking forward to being a playful contributor with so much to learn yet. Repair/restoration next. Oh yeah I dusted off the Nak deck from college got new tapes ( thats another great story) recorded from my LP's and use Walkmans daily. WOOHOO ! Each time I pick one up a part of me inside smiles of great memories started with my WM-3 (first Walky). Regards JOHN Wink

I noticed by saving posted pic to computer then enlarging it does not have clarity at all of original. If anyone wants me to email them original email me johnedward @ exe cs.com (remove spaces).

Hey, cute idea, not one I'd have done (risk assessment too high). Looks like you know your stuff too. Tell me what's the brown unit mid left which looks like a micro retro record player?

OK folks, the challenge is here, who can name these walkmans. I'm struggling on the bottom three modern units.

walkgirl - 2009-01-13 00:26

That is a great idea! Smile

The middle bottom one is the wm-ex615, the
white one Smile

CORRECT the middle white one bottom is WM-615 one of my daily users found NIB from England. As for the brown one middle left looking like a micro retro record player it is santa's elves creation even plays one tune .
