The most beautiful red metallic players

walkman.archive - 2012-05-31 15:27

hi members,

I'm back again to show what are the most beautiful players in red, mostly made with metal. for me those are some of the most vibrant and exciting players. As you may know, red is the most vibrant color, that is often associated to guilt, sin, passion, and anger, as stated in the Wikipedia (link).

As passion for walkmans in my main fuel for writing this, I thought it would be nice to see some of the most vibrant red players toghether.

they are the following:

- AIWA P02, P07, P08 & G08

- AIWA G09, J09

- SONY WM-2

- SONY WM-DD, DD30

- SONY WM-30, 109

So, here comes the AIWA family:

AIWA Walkman Red Series 01

AIWA Walkman Red Series 04

And here, all AIWA and SONY models:

Walkman Red Series 01

Walkman Red Series 05

For me, the most vibrant red here is the AIWA G09, followed by the P08 & G08. The red G09 is incredibly powerful, and difficult to capture in a photograph even for me, that I'm specialized in precise color reproduction if photography. I was very surprised that this is probably one of the most intense red I ever seen in a material object (not in a screen). I can only think in a tulip being backlit byt the sun as a close red. Really impressive.

Any other model that you consider to be undoubtely here?

Hope you enjoy!

Hugo your photos are superb clarity !!  Ah now here comes the forum seeing RED

Red most certainly is a color of deep Passion and on Walkman often the metallic paint on metal players can be stunning.  Here are a few of my favorites in my collection.   Afraid so many of mine are in boxes that have to use single photos taken when I bought them.

THE SANYO JJP4 in Brilliant vibrant red metallic and chrome.  This model is also the OFFICIAL SMALLEST WALKMAN EVER MADE.  Some time ago we did a EXHAUSTIVE analysis to find the top 20 smallest.

I have this model but at the moment cant find pictures of mine.

THE FIRST SANYO the M5050 in the extremely rare RED METALLIC.  Nearly all production was in Black.  Truly stunning and one of the first BRIGHT colored walkman to be made.

Here is the FATHER of clones as there are more variations of this excellent overbuilt early walkman sold often under mfg. names we have never heard of.  I have 6 of these and I know Auto Reverser could march a endless stream of these .. they follow him around his house as AO once quipped.

Although the plastic red Walkman can not match the glossy or satin metallic finishes on metal there are however some very rich red colored Walkman some with unique metallic impregnated into the plastic.

Awesome Reds.  I do have a couple red walkmans myself.  My favorite being the P02mkII in my profile pic.  Gives me an idea for another thread, Yellow walkmans that aren't the Sports walkmans.  Then again, I haven't seen any other yellows except my Aiwa HS-P02.

Thanks for sharing and like always...Great Pictures.

I add two red more that I forget to. They are both extremely rare.

The first is the EX-1 in matte finish:

SONY WM-EX1 Red 02

Not the coolest red ever, but very rare indeed.

Next is the also ultra-rare WM-702 in glossy red:

SONY Walkman WM-702 Red 01

And here ends my metallic red collection. but I also have a few red walkmans more that I didn't include from the beginning, as they are plastic models.

they are also very rare. One is the Toshiba RT-V600, a sports walkman:

TOSHIBA Walkman RT-V600 Boxed Red 04

I have mine for sell. It's boxed and completely new, never used (NOS). If you are interested in it, please drop me a PM.

Another is the also new and boxed Hitachi CP-35:

HITACHI CP-35 Boxed Red vender 04

In a beautiful red glossy finish. I have this also new, never user and boxed as I explained a few months before in the "for sell" section of this forum.

Last one is probably the rarest of all: the Sharp TV10:

SHARP Walkman JC-TV10 15

That I think is one of the coolest walkmans ever made. Mine is completely new, never used and boxed. It seems that it needs a new belt but the TV panel doesn't work :-(

hope you like them!
