If you have something to sell and genuinely have no idea what to ask then please use this thread.

As we all know, walkmen are not like cars and don't have set listed values.  The first thing to do is to look through completed eBay auctions to get a fix on the kind of money your model has sold for recently.

Alternatively you can post here with a pic or two plus as much detail as you have about the condition (cosmetic and functional) then our resident team of seasoned experts (you lot) will give their ball-park thoughts on what they think it's worth.

Anybody have an idea of the value of a Sony WM-F60 in like new condition?

I have one these in gold, also in very good coondition, it was thrown in as a job lot. As far value i would say £30-60 (seen them go for these amounts) for non boxed unit, £80 was paid for a partially boxed (no headphones included) unit. It also depends if the person buying is a collector if so they generally pay more, its a excellent sounding machine. 

Anybody heard of a company TCT products Company. I have a TCT 600 and was wondering about it's value

Last year I had my car stolen.  When police recovered it the trunk was full of electronic gadgets none of which I was familiar so I gave the lot to my grandson except for the Sony Walkman cassette player 2051.  I did not see it on the Walkman list.  I do not wish to sell it cause if I can get it to work I would like to play old cassettes.  Any idea what it is worth?  I would guess back in it's day it couldn't have cost over $10 bucks!  I hope to find batteries today to see if it plays.  thanx, Ms Match

I've got an aiwa hs jx 303. It seems to he in great condition, it just has a few scratches on the face and a very faint rattle. There's no box, nothing, not even a battery so I'm not sure if it even works.  Say it does work, how much is it worth? I'm thinking around 100 GBP what do you lot think?

Hi guys! Great site! I found an AIWA HOS P02MKII at Goodwill recently. It's in pretty good shape and even has what seems to be its original case. The eject button is kinda sticky and there's a little wiggle in the tape holder. All the buttons press down like they're supposed to and the stop button works, but I don't think it plays. Otherwise it seems like it's in great shape so I might just be doing something wrong.

As you can see, I've recently come across the "Guys & Dolls" TPS-L2 Walkman, serial number 153**. It's in great shape cosmetically and powers up although the capstan doesn't turn. I've also got the case, with the original walking Walkman logo. 

I realize that early Walkman prices are a bit crazy thanks to Guardians of the Galaxy, but I am wondering if anyone has any idea of what this is worth. If I sell, I'd rather have this go to a collector who values it for its rarity and not just for its similarity to a movie prop.

Thinking of selling my boxed Sony WM-D6C in preparation for the coming festivities to buy my son a new pc, could do with an idea of price?

Some people are just using the name of Walkman to get prices very high, I saw a Sony WM-W800 for over 900€ which is redicilous, a WM-D6C for over 1500€ and a WM-701 Christy's for over 10000€

This is absolutely ridicilous, its not a Van Gogh drawing.!!

Even if it’s a Van Gogh, you will find some people fall for the hype but most people will only pay what it’s worth to them.

I would say checkout the prices of similar boxed units on eBay, which should give you and indication.

The problem with D6C’s are, they made so many and you can find plenty floating around. One of my favourite unit’s but most people don’t know how good it really is, hence they don’t want to pay a lot for it.   

Yeah I'd already checked Ebay but the price varies so wildly...

I would say about 350€ to 400€ if its in very good condition.

I have pulled out of storage a bunch of boxes from my past and in it was a JIL walky Music. barely used then in 1980 and looking pretty new.

I'm thinking about selling it to get rid of some storage issues.

Any idea how much I can get for this and where it would be best to post the ad for the better return?

     JIL JWS 552 I have heard of this brand before, but it is not in the fore-front of common brands out there, so if it works it may be worth $20.00 and up, & if it does not work, well it may be worth about $20.00 as it is, just a radio with the ability to maybe play a cassette.

Thanks for your post.  Sadly the WM-EX500 is just the wrong side of vintage.

If I'm honest, it's not worth you bothering, I'd say £10 tops.

A few mint and near-mint condition Panasonics. Fully restored, new belts, lubed, speed-adjusted, cleaned. Working 100%.

I have brand new gumstick NiMH batteries for all of them. Original headphones/chargers/boxes/etc. for the RQ-S5Vs and RQ-S55Vs.

For the RX-SA79 I have the original AA battery attachment, as well as 3 original gumstick NiCad batteries, original charger, and gumstick battery door.

I see the RQ-S5Vs go for $50-60 but very rarely. Never seen an RQ-S55V in white before I bought mine. Is it actually rare?

The reason I asked you about the serial number is some earlier models are prone to IC problems. I am not sure about the number you provided. I was expecting a 6 digit number. Anyway, as I always said there is no fix price for vintage electronics. Your Walkman can worth between 800 to 1000 dollars and this is just my personal opinions

Guys, this thread is for valuations only, please keep personal negotiations to PM.

For D6C valuations a good start is to look at 'Completed Auctions' on eBay.  A quick look tells me that recent D6C's sales went from £120 ($150) to £500. 

The D6C will always be desirable and it's a solid old lump so not much goes wrong with these.  When buying, avoid any with playback speed issues.  Also, some buyers prefer the later versions due to it's 'ribbon' based internal wiring but the jury really is out whether these are really that superior.  Also, the amorphous head seems to command a premium but most buyers don't really know why. 

Considering yours is boxed with the rare headphones, I'd say you shouldn't struggle to get £300-£400 on eBay.

I never meant to buy anything on this topic. Somebody requested a price range for a brand new D6C walkman and another member offered 100$ which to me was not an appropriate estimate. Sorry if it went to wrong direction
