Couldn't find a good pic of me at my age, not many around .
So heres one of me at the 1953 street Coronation party.
Got talking to my daughters builder one day and he was there same day,
we were both gob smacked.
He sent the photo and no matter hard we try, we can't work out who's who.
but i am in there somewhere.
Derwent st. SE19 Penge way.

Get well soon DocP

I missed the forum while in recovery....I need to know what's happening in the boombox world...

Gratefully I had my own "DocP" here in the hospital and he replaced my belts (coronary stent) and like many of "our" DocP's products, new life has been restored to an old broken down unit. I feel better than ever!!

Now I'm at home, cruising S2GO...that's my definition of recovery!

Thanks again everyone

P.S. Chris I DID turn the music loud..and fried the "amp"...now I have to play at a lower "volume"....for now

740 horses? that's plenty, eh? Have you recorded a ¼ mile time?

The stock 2005 GTO has 400bhp & a does a 13 sec ¼mile, so I'd be interested to know how close you are to having a "10 second car" there

...It passes everything EXCEPT a gas station...

Surely not a shock for a six litre V8, but I know what you mean.

Fuel prices have gone way up everywhere, but you guys in the USA were used to it being so cheap, 'cos you paid so little tax on it compared to places like the UK.

Car talk used to be about 0-60mph times, but now it's about mpg...

fuel its a killer v power £1.47 a litre , my brother has a supra running high nines i have driven it on a few ocasions great torque a bit laggy very twitchy on the road a handfull , the 2jz engine is a belter a chap on the owners club has one delivering 1000 + bhp and he is sixty odd

Yes the car has plenty of horses.  My best 1/4 mile time is 11.1 @ 125 mph.  She has large Nitrous Oxide injection staged system.  On the dyno it pulled 535 RWHP !  No, fuel mileage for what is there is not bad. The engine is HUGE under the hood.  Get about 20 mpg on highway around 14 combined driving.  True car talk was more about hp than mpg but today its like a second coming of the early 70's muscle car era as cars are making a lot of power these days at a cost ... tons of expensive technology that as cars get older you cant afford to fix them or even find the problems.   My 71 Plymouth Roadrunner now that's easy to fix, inexpensive too.

Yes if I was in the EU I would be driving a high technology V6 twin turbo like the Supra which is one awesome vehicle.  At least you can get reasonable fuel mileage with smaller displacement engines even if making a lot of power.  6.0 L is just a lot of pistons to feed all the time but there is NOTHING like the feel and sound of large displacement V8 and 6.0 L is that.  Although growing up I had a Buick GSX ( look up on internet awesome little known very fast car) that had a 7.5 L monster V8.  I could smoke the tires the length of a football field... and did.  Badd John

Being Badd in my GTO today.

deliverance - 2012-06-15 07:13

to true v8"s sound awesome , years ago i had a ford capri with a rover v8 power plant  heads ported , flowed , hurricane cam , tubular exhaust manifolds , oil pressure mods and other bits and pieces and a boxer four carb kit that just lit up the tyres for fun but terrible road manners okayish in the dry but wet/damp conditions all over the place, no wonder people filled the spare wheel well up with concrete to help the back  end  got some proper pictures i will dig them out
