Sony WM-EX921

Very nice! I like these 90's type metal body walkmans. And this one looks super clean Good pictures too.

My WM-FX511 also has AMS music scan, just like the EX921.

Yours looks like to be a post-2000 Walkman-as it has the newer WM logo.

i've got the silver one and have had it for over 2 years. i didn't get anything but the player itself. 2001 is the year if i recall. without any attention i think they will be one of the last ones still working....i did find a side car from another model that fits great. also i share remotes with another older sony and they are compatable to my amazment....

hey Doc, Great find Love the color unusual blue. I too love the later model small all metal walkmans, they are ones I carry with me all the time, actually take them with me when out and about. Fussy is right the new walkman logo came out in 2000 so it is post that date. Sadly later new models not made in Japan as I think quality is best on Japan mfg.assembled units. Enjoy am sure you will

You are right the new models are built cheap, this is probably the last good model they made, 2001 I believe the year it was manufactured in.

How do you find the sound of this one say compared to a DC2 or EX1,2 or 5? I do find that most of newer models have such a low headphone output say 4 or 5 mw that you really cant get good sound to most better headphones.

It sound better then most newer walkmans, no distortion at 100% percent and pretty loud decent bass response, unlike the newer panasonic models which sound very bad, I believe a little more the 5mw, but nothing compare to the DC2 or WM-D6C, those had a very good opamp on the headphone stage probably the best ever put into any walkman. Plus the DC2 and WM-D6C uses a laser Amorpous head, and Quartz lock. Capstan servo. better high frequency dynamic range by as much as 2 to 2.5db (at 14kHz). ...
