Does anyone know how this comes apart, ie do you access this through the front or the back i need to know before i begin as i don't want to risk trashing the box.... i need to go inside because she is stuck in record so i can't play any tapes thanks in advance guys
to true blue, id like to remake the passive radiator at some point mate but to be honest she sounds great without one
never seen a ca7 lad, i guess there the same and yes the sound is good, better than the 880 which i love It's quite strange really as some 3 peice are such a let down like the pc55, they spent to much time on features and not enough on the sound, where it actually coun'ts in my book
Honestly I think these would sound better without the radiator the sound just gets Channeled through the center section anyway like an extension of the cabinets.
you're more than likley correct floyd my man, i mean how are you meant to hear a radiator lol but i was suprised at how big the replacment would be, i'll probably leave her without the radiator lad, it's not like the 880 where there would be a huge gaping hole without one
Yep, mate, Aiwa CA-7 is a JDM 100V version, no other major differences from CA-70 AFAIK. That's mine, with this aluminium plate from passive radiator in front. A Foam surround long gone. Never took her apart, I am not a tech man..
such a beauty, hey Alex take that plate off you're ca70 lad, if you're worried about unwanted noise just block the two holes located at the back on each side of the box lad on second thought egnore this lol
Yep, buddy, this plate has been removed from the cabinet a long ago by a guy who refoamed the main speakers - on the below pic you can see this plate laying in front of the box, upside down.. Those holes - air ducts, a-ha, they get shut off when you detach speakers and those just become "closed box" type ones.. That's why I think that this 3D radiator doesn't impact the overall sound quality/quantity much, just for standing out from the crowd, shall we say..
