I would like to fix that one I got for few €....
But not sure if it's a problem at all.....

It's an autoreverse without a switch to choose between loop or single mod....

It plays a cassette both side then stop... Not really stop, the play button stay inserted and the motor still turn.

If it has to do autoreverse in a loop, it may be the belt, though, it plays very nicely and the belt seems to be ok to me.... But I am not sure. all of this is new for me.

In addition, it seems to have a bad contact or a GND problem, in some condition there is a humming, touching the boutons or slightly bend the case, it stops humming....

So, I tried to open it to see the inside. But I did still not success...
I removed 3 screws that are visible on the back side, but the back cover is hard to remove, I am afraid to break something. Maybe there is more to do than the 3 screws.....

Unfortunately, I could not find a service manual for that model.

Do you know where I could DL one or do you have a good advice to give me to open this machine ?

    Thanks a lot.

    Finally I opened it.
3 screws on back cover (2 on the back and one on a side).
There is some clips around that has to be unlocked, I used a Mobile phone plastic tool...
2 clips near the batteries place has to be pushed with help from a screwdriver or similar, I had to push on each clips going through the battery compartment...
I unsoldered all the wires from the motherboard to be able to work on it easily. Time to recap and new belt (not so bad but as it's open...) plus solder joins inspection....

    Caps :

    5X 220uf / 4V ø6.3 x 6
    2X 1uf /50V ø4 x 5,5
    2X 2,2uf / 50V ø4 x 5,5
    4X 47uf / 4V ø4x5,5
    1X 10uf / 10V ø4x5,4
    1X 1000uf/6,3V ø10x12,5

Where could I order good belts ? I saw a seller on ebay.de but I wonder if there is better options...

Belts you can get from DeckTech: https://www.ebay.com/itm/224456754842
Regarding the mechanism, can't see anything obviously wrong. But if the belts are a little bit loose, this is a symptom you will get.

As far as the capacitors go, see some of them are Nippon Chemicon (the ones sitting on one side). Those are more than likely good.
However if you see any Nichicon brand ones, replace those. Remember seeing more than one brand of caps in some of these AIWAs.

    Thank you for the reply.
    Belt ordered from DeckTech.

    Concerning the caps, I did notice that almost all caps except 4 have an engraving on their top. "88 E3" and "80_" for the smalls 2,2uf;
    See picture.
Can I deduct from this that all caps except the 4 with no marks on the top are Nippon Chemicon ?
If yes , I would have just to replace the 10uf and both 1uf plus the 1000uf...

Another question, is it possible to clean the sliders ? At first sight, they seems to be sealed.
Is there new replacement part for those ? One is scratching a bit, I moved it a lot but it did not helped that much. Thanks again.

PS: Found the HS-G36 service manual on webarchive, it shares the same motherboard with my G37. Good to know what are the 3 pots for...

EDIT : Finally decided to replace everything with new Nichicons... Caps ordered...

See the Nippon Chemicon logo in the picture attached.
The 88 E3 looks like a date code and batch number, it's probably stamped only on bigger caps due to space constraints.

You're reffering to the EQ sliders ? I would spray contact cleaner and then move them back and forth.
Unlikely to find exact replacements, it's simpler to just clean the existing ones.
