This user on X is experimenting with various capstans on low budget walkmans to improve wow and flutter
Now it looks like he is thinking to implant a super powerful and stable motor from a HD drive.

I am curious if an HDD motor affects wow and flutter. The platters of an HDD are actually an enormously heavy flywheel that will never fit in a Walkman. So why would such a motor be better for stability? Will an HDD contain digital error correction, a buffer or something similar, to compensate for speed differences? Quite a nice project, I'm curious about the outcome.

 

Don't know what exactly he's up to but he is really experimenting doesn't care about fitting the capstan inside the walkman , at one point he said that wow& flutter was not improved because the motor hasn't enough torque , probably that led him to hdd motor another user commented something about powering that motor , but technical terms translation from Japanese is far from clear :
