I was trying to find some info on this little brand, anybody own a Corona? They look like decent builds, I think I have a Corona Transistor Radio, maybe from Hong Kong? Corona CR-800, 780, 760 Lost link....
A mono boomer with stereo output, it looks like the Radio Shack Minisette. Corona CR-512 Old auction link.
This might be the most interesting of the bunch, the Corona CR-570, anybody recognize this one? It sure looks like the Marantz UNIX-3 and the AKA Sears 20207 but with a different cassette door. The Sears Manufacturer's Number confirms that Marantz of Japan was the builder, was this a clone or the real deal? Hard to tell without looking at the back label, anybody have a picture of that? I've got the Marantz/UNIX Version and there's no T-tag on the back.
One more stereo model, from my forum mate, old pics, Corona CX-6000 With back label (Corona = Crown ) and interesting Heraldic-like front one..
Thanks Hyperscope! I went to school a long time and wrote a ton of papers, now I dig ditches for work and write boombox/Walkman Essays.
Mystic you nailed it! I had to try to remember where and what language I was searching in. Pretty wild, did you know about these? They're not on the wikibbx yet......
No, I didn't, your new thread (Thanks! ) ignited it , I gave it a try in the Shizaudio database and found those pics above and the back label. Just wondering if this Corona = Crown Electric Inductrial Co. may have any relationship to our "usual" Crown? Most probably not..
It looks like Crown had Bubu, Corona and possibly made the Bell & Howell "Boombox." We haven't dived into that one yet, the controls and tape transport position are different but it seems Crown had no issue making similar but different equipment.
