The only thing missing from that ad is Ernst Stavro Blofeld's Cat Those stairs and wall give it such a wonderful 60s vibe. This machine is actually the opposite of a boombox. A boombox should scream for attention even when it's not on, but this machine is the complete opposite. It's truly remarkable how many unique machines Crown has ever created.
I'm slowly collecting the briefcase models, I need to do some wash and waxing before photographs. I feel like they really grasped the 60's spy era and came out with these cool designs. The briefcases are very nice, slim designs, some have an antenna knob that really makes you wonder what's inside.
Did this get posted already? From 1972, the three girls are a music group called, that's right, you guessed it, "School Mates." They must be tiny, I have the middle boomer and it's pretty small but she makes it look huge.
Wow, 1962, spinning some vinyl in the mountains. An early four-color ad that must have been big money back then not to mention the cost of this beauty. I've got a very similar AIWA I have to pull out one of these days along with one of my roached out Beach Boys Album.
Check this out, Crown from the 1960's. This is neat, the speaker sits on top of the TT as a lid. Unfortunately the speaker looks like most cheap transistor speakers from that time. I can't tell what the metal parts on the side are for? https://www.ebay.com/itm/227009879876?
For the Crown Collector, a portable TV from 1988, kind of funky looking but it definately has an 80's vibe to it. It has a 3.5mm aux antenna jack, that could make if fun broadcasting old Crown Commercials on it. This is made in Taiwan, I'd guess Crown was looking to fill in it's line up and since most of their equipment was going plastic-fantastic, why not throw in some cheap TVs. https://www.ebay.com/itm/389877745180?
I love these Busittache's and this one looks great, check out the photo of it sitting upright, wild but I don't know if they can actually do that without tipping over easily plus the dial is upside down. We need to get this guy to upload the brochure for us. One of these days we need to start the suitcase thread! https://www.ebay.com/itm/377272901590?
