Hi....i picked this up from the u.s....It came with its brown case / strap...and brown cassette holder (sorry no pics of cases)....

Opening it up I saw it had a small crack in one of the gears...maybe why it likes to eat tapes half of the time..
In the uploaded images you will see that this early model ( the one with the belts) has one extra small plastic gear...upper middle and behind
....Compared to the much more recent production model...serial 347661...you will see no such gear...
I suspect it was the god particle....when things were more innocent..and we believed in magic...alas
But wait...when you combine the original headphones ..the mdr 3l2...and some fine music...youll see Sony hit the sweet spot and you'll believe in magic again...
    phew

Nice. I found mine in mint shape, with leather case and manul a few years ago at an estate sale for $5 :)
I need the Sony MDR-3L2 headphones still !

Nice pick up on the differences. You have a low serial too. I had 17162 but recently sold it.

I see you sell/Sold a lot! Dont you have an Aiwa J500 or J08 for sale?
Does anyone knows how many L2's were manufactured without the walkman logo?

No Aiwa's at the moment. I'm curious on the serial number allocations also. Anyone know where they start from? 000001?
