    Hi!

I just learned about this community. Its such a great resource of information. I just recently took up an interest in cassettes. Hoping to buy my first cassette player soon. I've been looking at Sony Walkman's. Nice to meet you all.

Welcome jonwhite, keep your eyes open, they sold millions of players and a lot of people over 45 might have one stuffed in a box somewhere. While MP3 revolutionized music storage, it will never compare with the mechanical complexity of a cassette tape and player. A lot of us enjoy the never ending quest to find the best sound but the combination of equipment needed always changes the vector but never the desire. Most units need a little love and a belt, don't be intimidated but some of the very high end units may need some good technical skills to do this but there's a lot of older models that just need the back cover pulled off.
