Hi, I’m a music and audio fanatic who’s recently getting deeper into more vintage gear. I have a few Walkman and two record players so far.

I currently have my eyes set on digital audio tapes. I first became interested in audio through microphones, then I began looking at speakers. I think I inherited my dad’s love for audio. I’m a “guitarist” but really I wouldn’t call myself one, and I do make songs sometimes and enjoy the process of sound design. I like to record my music onto tapes and listen to it that way. Anyways, happy to be here, looking forward to using the forum!!

Welcome to the forum! Honestly, if you like tinkering and trying physical things, vintage is the way to go. I got lucky last fall and found a curbside Tascam DA-30 Mk II DAT in nearly mint condition, now I just have to find the one DAT tape I own. Our local vintage shop also had a stack of Tascam DA-88's, I picked one up last summer to mess around with, it has 8 channels but they can be hooked together, maybe three total for 24 channels. That uses Hi-8 tapes which are easier to find then DAT. I just do it for fun without musical ambitions.
