I was just cruising some Japanese Websites and found this beautiful Marantz PH-32W. I've never seen this model before and while it looks like it could be BPC I have a hard time not believing that it might be pretty cool. I feel like there's a European Version, maybe CH-7? We never got the cool ones over here, most likely due to the split of the worldwide distribution rights in the early 80's. Marantz's don't get a lot of respect but I feel it's due to their rarity and the tough times they went through in the early 80's.

I also found a nice little YouTube Video.

Yes that unit is very rare

I never understood the practice of having a function switch AND a button for source/tape. Why not just combine that into one switch?

I think that's the model I've seen floating around Mystic, it's odd that they have a very close model number. Maybe the added "W" is for wide?

Or it might mean double cassette. The Japanese often used the letter W to signify that.

So somehow you got the picture that ( I took of the back ) and somebody else's video.
Today somebody was asking me about this brand Marantz and I was saying that I STILL have this model on my shelf.
Here is my video from so long ago :)

Your photos have floated around for a long time Cassette2go that's funny that they ended up on a Japanese Site. What do you think of the box? I've got a few others from around this time and they sound good and they have nice builds, when most of the other brands were starting to really get light.
