I have had mine for years, i think most of them came from eBay. I am sure i paid less than £100 for each one.

See attached pic for the last lot i sent to dottor walkman to fix for me, i included 2 DD33's i think to have the main gears removed to be use in the DC2's

Well why are people charge ridiculous prices for barely working ones?

They are opportunist and if someone pays that price they set a president and everybody else thinks they can charge that much for it.
The only answer is don’t pay the price and the prices will go down, but the problem is someone always do and it all escalates.

Unfortunately it is unlikely to find any DD walkman without broken central gear (unless it is restored).

You can search ebay for "Restored Sony DC2" if you don't want to go through repair.

What did it cost in 1985 or whenever it was new?

I thought there was a guy making new gears though.

In 1984 it cost $160, at the time everything translated 1 to 1 so in the UK £160

I noticed that the D6C and DD33 can't hold the bass as well as my KA6ES deck.
How's the bass (regular not mega) on these walkmans?

The DD9 is the exception to that rule.

I have never heard a Sony KA6ES, so can't say. You are comparing portable players against a full size deck.

It's like comparing a portable generator against a proper power station and saying the portable generator can't sustain current like the power station can, when you miniaturize stuff something has to give.

Oh, I thought it was like digital, where the bass on a discman or mini disc is the same as the bass on a computer. Do you need a headphone amp to get the real bass back and what deck do you use to record?

I don't think they will sound the same digital or not. The D6C does a very good job. I believe your D6C is new to you? maybe it needs a service? The D6C produces better bass then the DD33 and DC2.

I use a Nakamichi CR-7 for my recordings

Oh yes i do use an amp but it's not for the bass, in fact it has less bass but the sound is cleaner and better.

Yeah My D6C needs work, I'm looking for Sydney technicians. Having six DC2s, you sure you can't sell just one to me.
Oh, you have a Creative SB1240, same as me .

It’s a Creative SB X-Fi HD. I use it when I am setting up my turntable, the software I use to setup my turntable requires a digital input device for setup. DR. Feicker Adjust+

O D6C produz melhor baixo, então o DD33 e DC2.

Eu uso um Nakamichi CR-7 para minhas gravações
