Hello!! I'm selling my Sony Walkman Professional WM-D6C it's in excellent condition as is the case. This unit my grandma gave to me when I moved out of my country and I'm selling it to meet family expenses. It has been stored in a dark, climate-controlled, smoke-free environment for decades and exercised annually to keep the mechanics and capacitors active.

    Asking price: $1.200 + shipping

    Cosmetic & Mechanical Condition:
    • Exterior (Near Mint): Original matte black paint on the metal body is crisp with no dents or heavy scratches. All white, yellow, and orange silkscreened lettering is sharp and complete.
    • Original "It's a Sony" Decal: Still retains its original orange-dot promotional sticker on the cassette window (slightly lifted at the bottom-left corner due to age, left untouched for originality).
    • Tape Path & Interior: The mirror reflector plate, brass reel hubs, capstan shaft, and pinch roller are exceptionally clean.
    • Battery Compartment: Spotless metal contacts with zero battery leakage, acid, or corrosion.
    • Functionality: Tested with AA batteries. Playback is rock-solid with clear, balanced stereo sound across both channels. Fast Forward (FF), Rewind (REW), mechanical tape counter, Dolby B/C NR switches, Tape Selector (Norm/CrO2/Metal), and LED Peak/Battery level meters all function properly.
    What’s Included:
    • Sony Walkman Professional WM-D6C (Serial #A97xxx)
    • Original Sony Soft Leather Carrying Case with red/black velvet interior (excellent condition, intact stitching and silver SONY logo)
    • Original removable AA battery holder cartridge
    • One Type II (CrO2) cassette "Magical strings"
    Shipping & Packaging:
    • Ships worldwide via DHL Express / FedEx with full tracking, insurance, and signature required upon delivery.
    • The unit will be carefully bubble-wrapped and double-boxed to ensure museum-grade protection during transit. (Batteries not included in the parcel due to international air-freight regulations).
I'm from chile, and I understand if you are feeling skeptical about buying from someone across the sea or from south America or something like that; so I want to be as transparent and honest as I can, if there is anything I can do to make you feel more at ease and comfy just tell me, likewise if there is there is anything missing from this post that I should Add

even in mint condition I don't think they fetch $1200 unless they have some original accessories like the box, headphones, test cassette, etc. I think you are looking closer to $500-700, at least in my experience. GLWS.

This is a more realistic assesment. Thing is D6Cs are many, unit has been made between 1984 and 2002, milions of them were made.
And even though the 35711 head and especially the early pointy head are more desirable and rarer than the rest, there are still many of them on the market.
Most are also in good condition, so thing is despite the unit is very desirable, the offer exceeds the demand by a lot for this particular model.

@Santiago Hernández Fact it's an early serial isn't very important as it has the 35711 head (second generation), not the pointy one.
The very late 35712 heads have serials with 7 digits and are rarer than the first generation, but still very good walkmans.

Also you didn't mention anything about customs, at a $700 value, the buyer will have to pay another $140 in VAT (20% average), some customs duties and brokerage fees (in case of courier) likely having a total close to $1000 including shipping.

You know what man? Totally understandable, and this goes for everyone, you can make and offer, np. And thanks for bringing up the thing about VAT, that totally escaped my mind.
