A conversation on a different thread the other day got me to take a few pictures. Well on that thread a guy said by adding a portable amp to your Walkman defeats the portability of a Walkman.
I have to say I disagree, below are a few pictures of me using my Walkman WM-DC2, WM-DD9 and WM-D6C. Admittedly the WM-D6C is not as portable as the other 2, but portable it is.
I can be seen using these units daily on my commute to and from work.

How do you carry your Walkman, Walkman / Amp?

Interesting, thanks Chris. I never take in on the belt, but on the front pocket or a side bag I usually take with me. Depending on the weather I take in on the coat. I never pick the D6C; it's always smaller ones: DC2, DD9, DD33, DD30, PX101, PX505, PX303, 701C...

I take the D6C when i want the best sound on the move, usually in summer time as i don't have to hide it under my coat.

No the DC2 case is the one i had made years ago by my local shoe menders.

I have it on the belt as it's the best place for it, i can get to it easily and it's hands free. I see so many people with their portable players in one hand, i like my hands free to do other things.

Yes, the belt is definitely the best place for it.

The D6C looks ok for a reporter, but for daily use just not practical, too heavy... too big.... IT makes no fun at all... It's a pass for me.... But if you like it, that's good for you...

It's not meant to be fun, it's all about the sound :headphones:

When the AK240 was the top of the range AK player I put the D6C / Ray Samuels P-51 Mustang against it, the D6C / P-51 combo killed the AK240 at a fraction of the price.

I have since listened to the AK380 which is better and smoother than the AK240, admittedly I have not put it side by side with my D6C / P-51 combo but from memory the D6C / P-51 combo will still walk all over the AK380.
I will be at the Munich High-End Hi-Fi show in less than 2 weeks time, if I take my D6C combo I will do a comparison.

Not sure i will take pictures. I see so many people taking picture at Hi-Fi shows and i just think they are sad, hence i just go there to enjoy the moment with my ears and eyes.

I do have a picture of me and Jude Mansilla of Head Fi, with him listening to my D6C / P-51 amp and my headphones. I'll see if i can find it and attach it to this thread.

I think the problem with a lot of people is they think if something is new and digital it must be better, i am not saying that is how Jude thinks.
The amount of time people have said to me why are you listening to that old crappy cassettes when you can have an iPhone / iPod ect, then i get them to listen they hear why i still use it.
