hello, I have a wm d6c that i reversed polarity on :( now it smoked. it plays then stops and doesnt ff or rw as it immediately stops and seems very weak too now. any chance of a repair i am in the USA?

Nice! I open very few pieces of equipment, especially in the summer, just too busy with work and car repair. Search both Fisher and Sanyo, they are the same unit but the reality is, they were pretty rare and expensive when new.
Hy Hyperscope! I read with passion your posts about the sony d35. I received today what was supposed to be a fully working d35 and guess what: it suffers from the infamous vertical/horizontal skipping problem... I know you found a way to change the motor of yours. I have a WM 6DC that plays but no sound and doesn't rewind or fast forward. I think it just needs a proper service. Would I be able to send it to you? I can hear sound on the line out but not the headphone jack.
