Hello again After a break, for about 10 years, I found the time to get back to the s2g forum again. Family, children, building a house, … there was no time for Hobbys any more … but now It’s time to Start again … Best wishes TOM
Hi Mister X, I have the Magnavox 8011 same as the one you posted and I cant find any other information on it other than finding your post here. Can you tell me more or lead me to somewhere I can get any details on it? Thank you.
I'd love to but haven't seen anything ever. It might be a retagged Philips but there's no brochures that I've seen.
Just saying hello. Received my Sony d90 & my Sony d-99 is on its way. Both are spares/repairs but do power up.
Hi Jorge, I own a D-90 with what seems to be laser issues, Everything else appears to be working correctly (successfully swapped out the middle gear). Laser lens has been cleaned, haven't touched the laser power pot. I read that you had successfully did a laser transplant for a D-90 using a D-11 laser (KSS-220A). Any chance you could email me to discuss your process further? mattrkendall@gmail.com
Hi reminiz and @Jorge I too have just bought a Sony d-90(in the post) Also got the middle gear issue, but my question is, is there a shopping list of capacitors to buy prior to my discman arriving? I’ve looked at the square-2.com website which is excellent reference for the d-90 and may help you @reminiz Thank you in advance.
Hello Phoenix Chan! I read in a thread that you had some battery doors for the Sony WM-DX100. Do you still have one? I am located in Switzerland and am in need of one. Thanks Regards, Christian
Do you accept mail-in servicing on the WM-6DC from Sydney, Australia? (Faulty CX20084 as well most likely!)...
Hello! I have a WM-F15 and it plays abit faster than usual, also playing a clicking sound while in use. Not sure if this is something to be worried about, I didn't notice the difference until I played it along with my phone. 1.15x speed roughly. Clicking does concern me most and might be the cause of speed? I'd appreciate any advice or if you think it needs to be looked at I'd also really appreciate that, thank you
Hi Nick, I hope you don’t mind the PM. I’ve just picked up a Hitachi TRK-5280e and notice you have serviced one - are you also retro-restos on YouTube? Anyway, I was wondering if you could confirm I’d the radio dial and VU meter should light up? I suspect the “FM Stereo” indicator has blown on mine, but before I pull everything fully apart looking for other blown bulbs I thought I’d ask an expert! Cheers Paul
I am on youtube as Nick Eccles I don't think dial or meter light up mate.....stereo beacon is just a bulb behind thet dial!
Just bid on a Japanese action for the Panasonic RQ-SX33 and Panasonic RQ-SX30 Will arrive by the end of December.
Hi Yitzhak, Welcome to the forum. Hope you will enjoy. I'm from Israel and I repair those walkman. If you visit israel and will need any help let me know. שבוע טוב
Hi Mister X, I just saw your fantastic thread about Boombox Archaeology. At the top of that thread you refer to another thread where you discuss Walkman patents. For some reason I haven't been able to find that thread, and was wondering if you'd be able to point me to it? Thanks
Hi Steve, I saw your post on Jade's thread about the Toshiba boom boxes and wanted to get in touch as I am also now working on the Lockerbie TV drama being produced in Scotland this winter. We are keen to know more about your experience during the investigation and the images you have. If you would like to connect, please feel free to email me on nhenry290@gmail.com. Many thanks
Hi Jade, I have posted a reply to you quest for the Toshiba RT-SF16. Please contact me if you read my message. Kindest regards, Steve
