Somebody should start a dedicated Sony FH Thread, I've got some stuff to add..... They made a ton of different versions.

While this is an energy drink, I think it deserves some mention, my Tokyo Buddy turned me on to it. Less caffiene then Red Bull, it has a nice flavor and chock full of vitamins. I really don't know cuz I can't read it but I was drinking a couple a day over there.

I just got this Sanyo M9926, I thought it was a basic midi boombox but it seems to be kind of rare with none ever showing up here or BBX. It reminds me of similar sized Panasonics from the early 80's and sound the same as most of them this size. I got a discount on it cuz I thought the tweeter grills were missing but that's the way it came. I checked out the service manual and it shows it in this configuration. The music search is like car decks where you push FWD and it goes to the next song, kind of an early clunky piano button system.

I forgot to grab my Elysian Pumpkin Beer, yes it's that time of year! Maybe a month earlier than normal but I don't care. This year I can actually taste it again, the big C did a number on my taste buds.

I took this photo six years ago, thought I had posted it but maybe not, this is from the Hard Rock at Mall of America, not sure if they are still open.

I was hoping to see how this rated on Radio's Mickey Mouse Scale, I trolled this in locally! and good news, the Pumpkin Beer is flowing like wine, the new shipment is in and I had to start with some Bark At The Moon from Elysian. It's going to be slow in this thread, new members feel free to chime in and let's toast to some of our fallen lads.

I finally got jumped into the Panasonic RX Club with the addition of the Panasonic RX-W50. Wow, a nice little midi perfectly reviewed a few years ago down in the forum reader. These make me think of an 80's executive wanting a small system for his office, they're kind of small but the knobs and buttons are first class with solid movement. These are deceivingly heavy and even with tiny speakers it still fills the room with clear sound.

This has a great tuner, catching a ton of stations I can't usually get in and the EQ, with really smooth, maybe metal on metal? movement, it really works on fine tuning the sonics. With our local 60's station playing, I'm enjoying some Oliphant Brewing (Wisconsin) "Blizzard of '91" freshly brewed seasonal Pecan Pumpkin Pie Ale. Oliphant is one of my favorites, kind of an underdog but with super tasty concoctions. These are not sweet but lightly flavored for a refreshing chug.

I used to have this Conion boombox model and I made a video about it about 12 years ago before I sold it to somebody in New York City. Please view my video below.

Crown for the win! The Conion rarely shows up but it's in good company with those others, I think I see the Crowns the most. Back in my town we never had any big bad boomboxes, just basic mid-level, and when three piecers came out we were flooded with them.

Friday Night! Anybody else out there?
I found this super-rare Magnavox (Philips) 696 locally, wow what a cool mid-sized unit, and the belts work! Most Magnavox I run into are entry-level and not too exciting, this one is pretty creamy for a mid-size player. Smoked dial glass, two meters and two dial indicators AM/FM that move at the same time. The front door is hydraulic for that nice smooth slow opening.

I had low light so the top photo isn't great but it shows the cool features, Expanded Stereo is bigger but it also adds more treble and isn't as pleasent to listen, and this one sounds really good for it's size. The piano keys are metal-wrapped plastic that look great and very easy to work. The front slider with the silver button is fine-tuning and the knob locks it in, I'm guessing this is leftover from EU Models that had multi-band?

There is very little info on this one, I can't find the Philips Version, let me know if you see anything.

Of course Oliphant Brewing from tiny Sommerset WI has a new Special Favorite Lager, a nice change of pace from all the other craft brews, it's a good one for just a normal evening.

Found on the interwebs, cool glass from India but it looks like they are out of production.

The Philips version is the AR 698.
I have the Erres version ( SX8694), which was more common here in the Netherlands compared to the Philips.
I don't even think the Philips was sold over here.
