You could experiment with printable A4 transparent vinyl self adhesive stickers. I found them on Amazon. I plan to use something like this to...
Excellent work! I'm impressed you dismantled it so thoroughly! That was a lot of defects you found. Lucky to get the spare main gear for it. Mine...
Thanks Boodokhan, I think if I print my own labels I can experiment a bit without costing much. It won't be as professional as yours that's for...
Hi buzbox, I am restoring a tired Sony WM-30 and it's missing it's acrylic window so I want to make my own. Boodokhan says you have experience...
Thanks Boodokhan, So did you have the image printed directly onto the acrylic? I know this would be the best way to do it, it's how Sony did it,...
Hi all, I recently bought a faulty WM-30 to restore and one of its faults is a missing window. Does anyone have any experience reproducing these?...
Here is my latest project, a rather unloved looking Sony WM-30. As you can see it's missing it's front window but I like a challenge and will try...
The circuit designs might be the same but the component values will most likely be different. No we can't identify the component values unless you...
I remember my resistor colour codes but less certain for inductors. Anyway, that thread I linked to confirms the component by the IN is a series...
The thru-hole transistor is a 2SA1013 PNP. All the transistors in the DC2 DC-DC converter are NPN so that design is different. The D6C DC-DC...
Here is the schematic for the DC-DC converter in the WM-DC2.
The DC2 outputs 7.9V so it's very similar to the D3. The diode will be rectifying the stepped-up AC voltage, it's not working as a regulator....
I reckon you should check the schematic in the WM-DC2 service manual. Reason being the converter in the D6C is 6V to 11V and what you need is more...
Thanks TooCooL4, this forum seems nice and active
Thanks Boodokhan
For wow/flutter, the service manual states; 1. Imperfections in capstan bush - Replace part (probably unavailable as spares) 2. Not enough oil...
Great work! What method did you use to desolder the SMD caps, hot air gun or soldering iron?
