Hi, I've just got hold of an Aiwa HS-PX347, cosmetically it's in very good condition but - of course - it won't play. It's not the belt, I've replaced that following some very helpful threads on this forum, when I put batteries in the motor briefly runs, engages the tape and then it stops and nothing works - it's like it's automatically tightening a tape ready to play but none of the buttons do anything afterwards. Any ideas? A bad connection or something more serious? Unfortunately I'm not any kind of electronics expert, I can disassemble/reassemble and do basic soldering but that's about it.
