When you read the patent on the CRS-152, it seems to be for the placement of the speaker microphones, the theory being that if you record with the mics in the same spot as the playback speakers you'll get a perfect recording. I've got a ton of boxes around here with the same set up, I wonder how they got around the Superscope Patent.

I believe it was sold in 1974. Marantz had other boomboxes but I think this was probably their first stereo one. The main reason they applied for the patent was because the microphones were in the speakers, and the same cable that powered the speakers also powered the microphones. Pretty cool, and I don't think I've seen anyone else do it that way.
This is cool, it looks like an auto tape deck that takes microcassettes, four at a time. https://patents.google.com/patent/EP0060396A2/en?oq=EP0060396A2

General Electric had a boombox patent, I thought most of theirs were private labeled. This kind of reminds me of a Marantz Box. https://patents.google.com/patent/USD262017S/en?oq=USD276908S
