This is on USA Ebay right now with a lot of lookers, the Centurion E2101. It looks like a very basic unit but the volume and radio dial are nicely done. Don't get fooled, there is no cassette deck!

I forget that there were a few boomers with detachable CD players! Nice find.

Just found this gem, the Rhapsody RY-1034 Radio Cassette Player. This seems like the perfect blend, a table clock radio with a removable Walkman but this is the only version I've seen. For the most part I think Rhapsody is an entry-level Hong Kong brand meant for discount stores so don't expect much from this player.

Another find in Rolling Stone Magazine, the Jeltronic! from 1982, pretty expensive for a no name unit. Most likely very similar to the Besser and the others like it, probably made in the same factory and just rebranded.

Even it's boxed NOS i don't have space for it in my audio gear collection. I am sure it has crappy sound, but for some this will be bargain.

Here's a few pictures of a unit I've had for many years, but don't see them come up for sale too often.

A few more pictures. This JVC unit is way more easier to find than the Akai I posted earlier

Another clone ala ESC and Bush as shown previously. I prefer the look of this one compared to the others though. IMG_20230528_154422510_HDR.jpg IMG_20230528_154521019_HDR.jpg IMG_20230528_154634572_HDR.jpg IMG_20230528_154711529_HDR.jpg

I like that one, while ingersoll doesn't get a lot of respect, I've found the few units I have to be pretty nice and they were a great value for the price point they were at back then. Just like the stereo microcassettes, these undiscovered units keep popping up.

Just found this on ebay, the Sears 20608, made in Korea. Sears was a huge USA (and Canada) Department Store Chain. Anything from Korea was rare in the 80's here and the model number makes me think it was originally sold in Canada. The USA Products had a three digit code identifying the manufacturer.

It looks really tiny but it has LEDs!

Unfortunately there's no photos of the detached player, in fact there's no player in the box, maybe it's missing?
