Interesting. Were the pressed CDs authorised by the music companies ? Over here my local record store was Woolworth's. The closest they would have sold to something like that would have been CD singles that would also play a low-res video of the song if put in a computer.

I suspect that one of the reasons Woolworth's went bankrupt in 2009 over here was that they had become increasingly reliant on selling physical media (CDs, and DVDs) only for that market to shrink dramatically due to Amazon, Napster, and iTunes.

I would not know for sure. On the one hand, it was early 2000s, not early 1990s when everything was possible. On the other hand, having a full discography on one or two CDs should be too much for music companies, should not it? Anyway, the "label" that was selling these CDs is no more, and the website is gone.

So which ones did you manage to get ? I knew there were some out there. Otherwise the Sony player (which couldn't play MP3s) would have made very little sense.
I guess the use of slot loading CD drives in cars, Apple Macs, and even my Sony XDR-100 Radio CD convinced the irecord companies to stick to one standard size for CDs.

i'm just buying cd singles longman I'm not bothering with mp 3's as i don't have a cd player on my computer. the average price is 15 each which is crazy as normal cd's they can't give them away at the moment. this format is just a novelty really and not advisable for anyone but i still think it's great

just about any single is available though, i wouldn't buy any of those old sony discman though no anti shock and that mini sony cd player has no tone control which i think is pretty shite if I'm honest

Well i played my first original mini cd's a couple of days ago genesis mamma. Aswad shine, fresh prince boom boom shake the room

queen Bohemian rhapsody and they sounded great the 90's ones had more power and body though, hopefully more will turn up today

this is a great format for those that want to be different, the actual average price though was about £5 each and not £15 some are way way more though and i will not be buying them

I'm not sure i would have bought this format had i not bought it by mistake, in for a penny in for a pound lol
