Harman Kardon always seem to get good grades but I've never seen one in person, from 1979. The top unit really looks nice.

@Mister X: Going back to your ad for the Marantz 5030B, I hung onto my 5010, then had the tech go through it:

Nando, did you do anything cassette related for work?

I'm just combing through 1000's of online magazines and Pinterest/Twitter once in awhile finding the nicer looking equipment and then BOOM, you have it! I never really found anything too nice in the gravy days when everyone was tossing equipment like crazy but I have a handful of NAKs, I guess that was the main high-end units in my area.

I, only, have a passion for cassette decks. I've bought and sold a number of them in the past ten years. or so.

Just a few from your photos..... I know the bug I think there's around 200 in my office alone, here I have Walkmans and mini-boomboxes, the big ones take up a ton of space.

    Marantz SD 9000

I bought one in non-working condition last October and the technician got it going without too much fuss - even though it was his first 2-speed cassette deck he had ever worked on.

One of the best looking mini decks, the Toshiba Aurex PCD10 from 1981. Hi-Fi Choice gives it a best buy recommendation due to it's low price point.

I'm digging this AIWA AD-M800U from 1981, I always loved AIWA's tiny buttons on their portables, this looks like it also has quite a few.
