I love this 1979 display from Nakamichi, I can only guess how much this was worth, you could probably buy a couple new cars with the money.

Some really cool Nakamichi's from 1976, these even aged well and still look good today.

Sansui SC-3000 from 1976. I'm trying to figure out if Sansui used "Amateur Recording Licence" as a trademark or slogan or there really was a thing. The address for MCPS-Eigar House doesn't come up........
These were really great for recording music but shows like Casey Kasem's Top 40 would always talk over the beginning of the song.

These look interesting, the only Sony I've seen are the very mid-level decks, nothing special but they always got the job done, from 1980.

From the same issue, here's some AIWA's from 1980 including the "state of the art" AD6900MK II! This one has a wireless remote, I bet Sony was pissed about that?

A big bad Kenwood from 1980, the KX-1060 made for metal tapes but the tapes were so expensive. Kenwood Tape Decks tend to be rare, outside of my El Diablo I don't think I have any others.

Philips from 1980, outside of TVs and electric shavers, I never saw Philips branded items.

Not to be outdone, on the next page is the vector research VCX-600 from 1980, list price was $750 USD making this a heavy-weight deck, anybody seen one of these? Of course in the USA, electronics were heavily discounted, 20-40% off list was common.
