and who can forget the Cambridge Soundworks Model 11 Portable Compo. The case includes a subwoofer, speakers and amplifier. I think it can use a 12 volt battery for power or can be plugged in. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Cambridge-...738013?hash=item1ccf39869d:g:kO0AAOSw2pBcNR82 HI Fi Classic review http://www.hifi-classic.net/review/cambridge-soundworks-model-11-189.html
I don't think I remember a blue version before. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-So...706308?hash=item3d8e146504:g:npwAAOSwE8Vb4yph
I like the units that aren't black or silver, I never saw them in the old days, now they're popping up and I kind of like this one, the problem is I'll see one at a garage sale for $5.0o but it's a cute like Sanyo Mini. What's the deal with the oversize AM/FM switch? https://www.ebay.com/itm/SANYO-M-70...552152?hash=item340d3f4ed8:g:sLsAAOSwc3Bc0hGl
Mister x love mini systems, Sears had the LXI line made by Sanyo (564 = Sanyo). This looks almost new, maybe I'll throw in a best offer, too bad the photos aren't better. This is a cassette deck and reciever so not as refined as an AIWA. https://www.ebay.com/itm/SEARS-PROFORMANCE-MINI-STEREO-INTEGRATED-TUNER-AMP-CASSETTE-SPEAKERS-56492793350/312673669301?_trkparms=ispr=1&hash=item48cccd90b5:g:kCAAAOSwDOZdDFE-&enc=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&checksum=3126736693011f25b42d29db42bc92316f3b39237f03
From the same person selling all the boomboxes. I guess they must be doing a house clearance or something similar. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sankei-S...247573?hash=item4d96d86bd5:g:bQgAAOSwbL1dFNuS This predates any Casio keyboard by a couple of years.
Wow, that's an interesting keyboard, never seen anything like it. The build quality looks pretty good but it must be very rare.
That pops up a lot near me. Not really my field of interest though. The matching speakers seems to be rarer that the unit itself.
A Marantz UNIX CRS-3.5 finally showed up on Ebay USA although it is a JDM Unit. That doesn't matter it still takes batteries and 6 volts of power. These are identical to the Sansui FX-300R which usually comes in black. https://www.ebay.com/itm/stereo-Boo...027329?hash=item4d963c7901:g:nz8AAOSwvwldAy1m
Sweet! This must be ultra-rare and would be great for a portable get-together. For the guys that hang out up at the top, the Olympus Roadrunner SR 11 is a portable stereo microcassette player, maybe one of the first with a built in radio. The shirt is dated 1980, too bad it's a little small for me. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-VTG-80...586526?hash=item215ec05fde:g:BJoAAOSwPkRdI2T~
One of a kind, maybe a Yorx AKA? The Pulser with kangaroo walkman! https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-19...544754?hash=item3d8d795772:g:8lAAAOSw8oFdCCqE
It's getting tough these days but some interesting things are popping up. This Denon is really cool and I consider it a score if it's not on The Boombox Wiki, this must be a really early Denon, I think they used the name Columbia in the early days but I might be wrong. The logo is so cool, I'd love to get some shits printed up with it all over the front. If you show up at the next Midwest Meet with this I'll buy you a beer, but bring me some Vango's Pizza when you go pick it up. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-De...609792?hash=item287f5ec7c0:g:I1cAAOSwvuhdBsgb
Not sure if I should post this ? here? I'm wondering what the going price for a Pioneer SK-71 & or Sk95?
They are great models but for some reason the SK-95's seem to be roached out and they still want $80 + USD. For good condition, complete, you'd be around $80-170.00. Pioneer made very substantial boxes up until the square black models, those were middle of the road and more mainstream. There is always one or two for sale, you may have to wait to get a good one.
Thanks Mister X No big hurry I like the looks & the sound. A guy from high school, million years ago had a 71 & I thought it was a nice box.
The Olympus D-System was a pretty cool James-Bondish Player with multiple modules. As seen in the Walkman Archeology Thread, this was patented by Olympus and I don't think anyone else had a modular system outside of radio cassettes. Here's a nice package with the AM and FM modules, there's also a boom mic and voice actuator available. https://www.ebay.com/itm/PEARLCORDE...071873?hash=item3b2b45e701:g:ehwAAOSwZ2pcae8e
Mini JVC FQ-22 Radio, this is really neat, I can't believe there are many floating around. This guy always has some interesting stuff, keep an eye on him. https://www.ebay.com/itm/JVC-FQ-22-...111786?hash=item23c1e8c0ea:g:tp0AAOSwZyJdNrXb
Dixons "Prinzsound" AKA of the Weltron 2001. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Prinzsou...305414?hash=item420460f846:g:BXYAAOSwtOVdIvf9 When this was released man was still going to the moon and people expected there to be a Moonbase by 1999. I have to admit I was tempted when I first spotted this, but since I have never owned a single 8 track cartridge the cassette based 2004 would make more sense.
