It says on the back that it is made by Matsushita who (until they changed the name) were the parent company of Panasonic and Technics. Does it say what the screen size is ?. It is an interesting combination of being colour but mirror based. Citizen used the same technique on early B&W sets (I have one here) but had moved on to colour using built in backlights by 1989.
Yes Quasar was another sub-division, I used to have one of their little color TVs when I was a kid, not bad stuff. I don't know how they postioned the equipment, I also have a Quasar CD Player that's an AKA first generation Technics. I feel like over here Quasar might have been found more in the mom and pop appliance stores. The screen is 3", it seems too little too late and too expensive.....
Not particularly cool, but definitely useful. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203612096730?hash=item2f683a08da:g:qqYAAOSwgwNhR1sr In the 80s and 90s everyone had either one of these, some of the cheap chipboard drawers https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154594075805?hash=item23fe86649d:g:GFEAAOSw1CthMJXy or a plastic rack for their cassettes. I had all three. I have bought a couple of cases like the first item recently. Not at this price, but the postage and commission would be £5 so the seller will be end up with about what I paid.
Another cool deck for the people who think stereo is too limiting https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165105645028?hash=item26711035e4:g:oj8AAOSwbzhhWZWx&LH_BIN=1 Decades before Surround Sound systems became popular the Japanese were pushing Quadrophonic as the next big thing.
That's not bad looking, most 8-track decks are pretty ugly, I think AKAI made Roberts, the brand of 3M. Did you notice the K-Tel Tape? I'm sure with 40 songs on it there wasn't room to make the sound quad. Interestingly they used the term "surround sound," I feel like I've only ever seen "Quad" on the components I've seen.
most early surround systems the back channels were mono powered by speakers i wouldn't want for free....i had one years ago done correctly with 4 large speakers stereo all channels and it shook the place back when i had the space
Don't the purist suggest using the same four speakers? I'd love to hear a real vintage quad setup but I've never seen one, I do have the boat anchor Technics Quad Reciever, it's huge! and maybe one or two other quad items that I could start with.
Here's an interesting find, Yorx had a catalog at one time, there's no date but it looks around 1982 and it has a few boomboxes in it. These don't look 1/2 bad and with the additional cassette/8-track slots on the side they definately are different. The three-hole punch makes me think this was aimed more for the retailer stocking the equipment. https://www.ebay.com/itm/3041650728...aultOrganicWeb&_trksid=p2563228.c101113.m2108
AIWA R30 Tuner, these don't pop up too often and it's kind of cheap. https://reverb.com/item/28894994-vi...MI3OL1tNS58wIVEXxvBB38cAt9EAQYASABEgJrTfD_BwE
The only thing distinguishing this from the hundreds of other similar cheap systems is the both sides play using a single tone arm. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/194398473506?hash=item2d430d4d22:g:J~kAAOSwPfBhUv7U I saw one of these, without speakers in a Charity shop a couple of years ago, for the price someone now wants for the brochure https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124129524452?hash=item1ce6b23ae4:g:5hoAAOSwcw1eeyJ-
That's pretty cool Longman, I think Sharp had a patent on the technology? Panasonic Travelvision Sign, it would be nice if the signiture was real, I've got similar signs for the Platnium Boombox https://www.ebay.com/itm/334185550777?hash=item4dcf02d3b9:g:1jgAAOSwwApguPtG

It’s from the 80s, everything works as it should. It’s in very good condition and the only thing that is missing is the remote. It has been brought from Iraq, maany years ago by my mates dad who served there as a soldier.[/GALLERY]
Nice box, kind of rare compared to the Sony FH Series so it's difficult to put an accurate value on it.
One of the early Sony cassette corders, TC-126 from 1973, can use "special" CrO2 tape. The logo is upside down, I suppose the machine was meant to be used in horizontal position, but then the push keys would be awkward to use. Or maybe these are not push-in keys, but rather piano keys? $45, not tested. Interesting "A"|"B" logo, Sony used similar logo on cassettes. Here are photos from other auctions, I can see where Soviet designers borrowed their ideas from. Funny that cassettedeck.org calls it a cassette deck. To me, this is just a portable cassette tape recorder. Philips also used similar "plank fence" or faux wood design. Sanyo MR-410R: ITT Schaub-Lorenz SL55 Grundig C110R using DC International cassette: Soviet Electronika-302: According to cassettedeck.org, the Sony was discontinued the next year, in 1974. The Electronika-302 was manufactured from 1974 to 1990 !
This is a super-cool looking mono-speaker radio, The Panasonic RF-1108, I think it's kind of small but what a beautiful design. It looks like it might have had a strap handle but it's long gone. I don't know but isn't is kind of rare to see a tuning meter on a portable radio, except maybe the really nice ones? https://www.ebay.com/itm/3537589906...JOx8ZpOW%2FuluqsrUVr|ampid:PL_CLK|clp:2563228
An oddball speaker for your portable from lowercase aiwa, probably made after 1991, the Aiwa SC-J1 https://www.ebay.com/itm/3342182110...kJhFyCwJRLxGJcW4|clp:2334524|tkp:BFBMyKOqzKRf
Spotted in a bunch of junk, the JVC PC-DM100JW Cassette Player that mates with the mini-compo box. The price isn't great and it's kind of roached out but someone might like it along with the pink Walkman. https://www.ebay.com/itm/294518364403?hash=item4492a998f3:g:g14AAOSwGqZhgqoe
