One more Grundig, the CR-180, I posted a brochure recently and this was featured, they look pretty neat but I've never seen one up close. A lot of the manufacturers had the "desktop" players but I think most are portable and can take batteries. Kind of a hybrid dictation/Walkman Recorder. https://www.ebay.com/itm/383881610456?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&fromMakeTrack=true
One for people in the USA. A mini TV in a Mini Boombox. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/322316246719?_trkparms=ispr=1&hash=item4b0b8b9ebf:g:HTAAAOSwHMJYG2aM&amdata=enc:AQAGAAACkPYe5NmHp%2B2JMhMi7yxGiTJkPrKr5t53CooMSQt2orsSvhAqMt0wg86xg8aAkgjQJP6T54JKK7u%2BLf9%2FHlsWqAeCOgTGxFZc%2B9og69sj7q8U02mg9FUSuDhHb7xwaHj1GTszi2y16%2FUs9T4egqGnLZlgaFQIzbNE0mczFZBPNMTQu6xVhUhh9BwMSDCO5wpsXjwaLTJ2Y5fMwFythzYOqF0rtahg%2FT87hr%2BUymID40yGUXBMkadQUN0Ym1Hri%2FsRHg6PPPqWJNtqvyvpoGUBpAB6U0NNRsZKB3Ai08zaR%2Bj1CcZRHx30e6QWQqTsuwy6ol2RyqVMcNBtkBlqcAFIIe2q24fdbShIqGr2lZrkkwMC9IP2lGq5oF3C63OHDXX3UhJ5B2v8X7H50nEi8%2FL2GtG1htrsnAQMJHv11rXeL1XY9ddFmZBJ5R0h7rVybXr9v%2FgAItKoah%2Fc7LMkgmNLXTdsQdhzLNDprLut%2FIKf%2FJrCJMR8IsE5yIFB57f4SSr2GxIAMiyuAjAg2mzvVe9xJ9t522IDEpJ%2FuAmv2ltFHhEORoWHB9mTNs7WTLpASoPJMZ%2BKnWyXBAr%2FfovQTxb8sVj1wq2MNRyqasas5rVpRAaQkR%2FMLQ5o5zHSrjwqKnJR5jmMMtvf1z%2BA%2BT6homCMyrXVR%2Bqdfj%2BV%2BI4NYpB7sOEyPFrW5xhlNRvoos5lwOKxAG7%2BpUc%2F0IEVaxid3w7Y76verO5lIZkgqR92DY4L%2F4mdW3EP9GiF8r5%2BmzHy9ui%2BGBzsmFwTkl7IzaCPozB5FAekmdDYu5OWsG9mRsDiuQFCCbr6E07fOxY6fKHGAcZsoZrfk%2BMMoUJheY1%2FV3nv6vIJlE3Zfnq0ejppT63BqtMJ|clp:2334524|tkp:BFBMxIfmkNFf
Here's another rare one, the Hitachi K-1000 Portable Radio/TV from 1977. There is no cassette deck but it's still from a fun time when these little TVs were getting really popular. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2037176349...FrdfJgX%2BYZDy8W|clp:2334524|tkp:BFBM_OqV19Ff
Sony Branded Shelves, local pickup only! https://www.ebay.com/itm/193871204111?hash=item2d239fcf0f:g:ykwAAOSwN3BgFSA8
Check out this Sony Countertop Display from the 60's! This is neat with the brochures.... That looks like the original packaging tape, this might be NOS. https://www.ebay.com/itm/144389664268?hash=item219e4b6e0c:g:PHEAAOSwOKZhs~5J
Silvano Portable Turntable, this is really neat looking. It's hard to tell the quality but it looks like they went out extra on the design, I thought it might be Italian at first. https://www.ebay.com/itm/224582675565?hash=item344a2bac6d:g:63AAAOSwii5hIyzt With a little research it looks like Jack Berg has them NOS http://www.jackbergsales.com/electr...i Sylvano KP 1100 AM Portabale Phonograph.htm
I'd love to have one of these, the National RX-4400, more of a field recorder with radio. This is so similar to the Sencor Boombox but just slightly different. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1852699720...%2B2Tu1YIg%3D%3D|clp:2334524|tkp:BFBMkKCfp9hf
ITT Super Touring 350 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/383150535831?hash=item59358d3497:g:xlEAAOSwgwlfRnKP I don't think I have ever seen Dolby and so many controls and sockets on what looks to be a mono box. Doing some more research it appears to be missing two external speakers http://www.kbmuseum.org.uk/itt_images/super-touring_350/super-touring_350.htm Oh dear. I will probably spend the rest of the evening on the second site down the rabbit hole of ITT catalogues and prices. They were more well known for Radios and TVs but did do a few Boomboxes.
I noticed this one while researching clocks https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/144234538528?hash=item21950c6620:g:0coAAOSwsPlhXQb9 The cool thing about it and the reason for the high price is the "Tuning Fork" clock which was the latest and greatest thing until quartz clocks took over. As I commented to @CDV that happened surprisingly quickly over the space of just a couple of years, at the same time as LED digital clocks and watches started to appear on the high street.
Nice find Longman, that is one of the best looking clock-boomboxes. Since the box has no branding I bet they stuck whatever brand you wanted on the radio and there might be lots of AKAs. Thanks for the ITT Link, we didn't have much of their stuff over here but they sure had a lot of offerings. I'm cruising through the Singapore Newspapers and they did heavy advertising over there and it also looks like that was a big manufacturing center for them. I'll post more info in the relevent threads.
Philips take on the popular mini TV Radio Cassette combination https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203832550625?hash=item2f755de4e1:g:H7gAAOSwLrJhOb9i
A very rare Crown CSC-630FW, not found on the wikiboombox, it looks like European Edition. I love the top control panel, it looks heavy duty. https://www.ebay.com/itm/203779391308?hash=item2f7232bf4c:g:LvwAAOSw9hJh0sR1
Looking at the Crown eBay thought I might also find this interesting https://www.ebay.com/itm/284714351966 It is Stereo so I think it qualifies for here
It's cool stuff Longman and that definately qualifies! We had a ton of Zenith Trans-Atlantic and a few other very similar models, sometimes Grundig shows up over here and they always look cool. Down in Florida they were probably pulling in all kinds of cool stations back in the early 70's, I wonder how many stations they can still get on the muli-bands.
Who doesn't love Gilligan's Island? It used to be on TV all of the time and as a kid we loved the cool radio they had. I guess they used the Packard Bell Version of this AIWA-AR 851, this is a rare time I've seen one for sale but I don't actively look for it. Check out the two pennies! https://www.ebay.com/itm/304426381284?hash=item46e139efe4:g:eEUAAOSwhn5iSggi
AIWA TP-1004, almost a boombox but no radio. Still a neat looking very early portable stereo cassette player these don't come up for sale very often and this looks pretty nice. https://www.ebay.com/itm/175228444317
This looks like a prop from a Sci-Fi movie Way more expensive than I would pay but it definitely fits into the cool category https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304427098154?hash=item46e144e02a:g:0sAAAOSw-9BiJ3tl One more picture for when the listing disappears
