Boombox Brewery Pole Topper, not really sure what this is, maybe a sidewalk sign? https://store.brooklynbrewery.com/bk-mix-boom-box-poletopper
you had my hopes up just for a sec Mr x with that boombox till i realized its just worthless junk/////damn you man lol
I always thought that CS-J1 was the 2nd most copied cloneman. Sorry Radio, with my bad luck finding big ones I've had to turn to cardboard signs.....
I was tempted by this the first time it was listed. For some reason (separates seeming way out of reach in the 1980s ?) I have always found Casseivers appealing. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/134350963691 However I already have the same turntable and with this one I realised that adding a cartridge and belt would cost as much as the start price.
Since Technics and Panasonic are both from the same company I suspect that the one he bought was a more upmarket version of this. I'm not sure who first used the name Casseiver, but Sony used it in their marketing The one shown seems to be quite a Hi-tech, upmarket device. Input timer recordings using barcodes ! https://twitter.com/museumsound/status/1211601399471071233/photo/1 Panasonic had a similar idea for VCRs with the idea that listings magazines would print the barcodes. However, I guess Videoplus numbers turned out to be more practical especially since several different manufacturers adopted the idea. As for what happened to Casseivers I guess many 1990s stack systems actually used them. However, by then rather than emphasise compactness (apart from in mini systems) they were trying to make a casseiver look as if it was a stack of separates. I had to repair a Sony system once and inside there was enough space to pop a biscuit tin in and still be able to easily refit the back
Some of those mid-80's "ideas" remind me of the early internet ideas, just about anything goes, they just needed another big industry to jump aboard.
Sweet! Vintage JVC Stickers for the JVC RC-828, I love this box but it eludes me, the good news I got another cool JVC this week! https://www.ebay.com/itm/175517754968?
Where does this Aiwa fit in their range https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334652056824 I can't work out if it is a mini or midi. Notice where the Amp and Tuner were made. Surprisingly the Aiwa factory still exists but is now https://www.axiom-ms.com/
Nice, there's a 50 Series advertised on the same page, beautiful units but they're spiraling up in price! You guys had a lot more of these over there.
AKAI AJ-C1FS, these are pretty rare around here, no idea if this is silly money pricing but it looks like a cool boombox. https://www.ebay.com/itm/115601088850?
For that tape head in your family, the Bliss Cassette Deck Head Cleaner, these are great for car decks where doing a proper cleaning might be impossible without deck removal. Fortunately I picked up lots of NOS over the years and have plenty. These do work, you can see the dirt on the foam pads but there's no substitute for a good manual cleaning with IPA and foam q-tips. https://www.turntableneedles.com/Automatic-Cassette-Tape-Path-Head-Cleaner-Kit-BLISS_p_3858.html
Not a mega-deal but if you haven't tried cleaning your records with ultrasonic your missing out, Vevor seems to be the hot seller, I got one and my old crusty Beach Boys Album looks brand new and it got rid of 80% of the pops. AudioKarma has some long threads on using it, there's no directions. The manual unit is on sale but I'd pay up and get the digital version. The rotating rack does come off so if you want to clean carburators or other grimey parts, you can. Anybody remember a few years ago we were talking about something like this? Back then they were thousands of dollars. Vevor sells really cool looking stuff, I've bought some other things from them and haven't been disappointed yet.
How about a cool neon sign for the game room? Custom made in several different sizes. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1340323454/similar?
Everyone needs a Lasonic Rug! https://www.toptrendygear.com/produ...ooring-gift-rs135068?variant=1000009642649347
Olympus SR-11 Stereo Microcassette Player, this one has the usually lost antenna that screws on the bottom and the cool door decal, these are a must-have for any Stereo MC collector. While $90 USD might seem like a lot, these things are starting to go for big money, did anybody see the Fisher PH-M20 go for $275? https://www.ebay.com/itm/325468716272?
