    Beware of the above model, they have it listed here three times at different prices. The listing is probably legitimate but there's only one unit for sale?

    Those eBay sellers are 'Japan exporters' that markup these devices for a finders fee. The JP one is only $698.. might be worth it...

    I did some more reading on the F10. Apparently, Sony called it "Yokohama", and it was really quite expensive in 1982 when it came out at 49,800Yen. Full logic, auto music search, and a super nice two way speaker sound. It seems more like a "high quality Walkman with speakers" than a boombox. Yokohama was a name that would be used for other petite boomboxes after. I kinda fell in love with it on my internet search lol. I also had this in my saved Yahoo listings for about a month. Maybe I shouldn't have, but I bought the CIB one from Yahoo... this is my first retro boombox purchase.

    Also, check out this part in the description:
    There is styrofoam that was originally included, but air packing is added to it, and the outer box is placed in a separate cardboard box to prevent further damage to the outer box. will be shipped.

    It was inherited from someone who lives in a fine house.

    I've never seen this one before, seems to be really rare, the JVC RC-7U. The six buttons on the top are for radio presets! This was very advanced for the time it came out, I think I have one boomer that also has this feature but it's not common.

    Y    ou are right about the tuner being very hi-tech back then. Most European TVs and the few radios that had presets used a little thumbwheel potentiometer for each channel. Back in 1979 a colleague fitted an LCD frequency counter module to his analogue HiFi tuner. When he brought it into work to show people everyone was very impressed.

    We thought that digital tuning was soooo cool, it's so odd how it looks dated now and analog tuners still look great. I have to believe in another few years most people won't know what an analog tuner is.

    Dance to the music! The Berecha DL-26 Karaoke Boombox. I don't think it's like a traditional karoake boombox, you might be able to just sing along but there's no MIC mixing dial? Get ready to spend silly money for this gem!

    I'm surprised there wasn't a cool version, with all of the larger Karaoke Machines, it would have been a natural to have cool light show going to the music. Soundesign and maybe Radio Shack had those cheezy but kind of cool multi-light speakers back in the late 70's that would have been great with this!

    These never come up for sale, I'd be a player but it's a little roached out unfortunately. The AIWA Strasser HD-S1, if I'm not mistaken, this was the first? portable DAT player. You'd have to check the Walkman Archeaology Thread to confirm. Three tapes with it is a bonus! It looks like it's labeled as a JDM Unit. I'd love to know the serial number.....

    AIWA DM-511P Mics! These are NOS, I bought one box, maybe I'll grab the other two if nobody else does. These go on the 70's AIWA Boomboxes, the mount attaches to the handle, or any handle that's similar in size. They also have other configurations included in the box. If you have a 70's AIWA Boombox, these will make it look killer!

    The DAT logo looks red, but it might be due to digitally processing the article.
    It does not have the Strasser logo on it.
