I clicked off of that Etsy page quickly, I could see my house full of cassette rugs. It would be kind of cool in front of the stereo though.
Yes it seems to be exploding like vinyl did 15 years ago. There is definitely no shortage of vintage turntables and cassette decks for sale on eBay.

Longman that brings up the discussion of vaporware music, there's probably a huge drop in physical music sales. It must suck being in a semi-popular band but you have no hard media to show for it. On the other forums they discuss if "vintage" audio might ever fade away, without physical media, it might.
