HiFi Archive (Germany) has uploaded a lot of his content to archive.org including the Crown 1982 Brochure, here's the boombox goodie page. His website goes back to the days when the internet was cool with all kinds of new and exciting information, luckily it's still around but with archive.org and worldradiohistory.com I think people were uploading his work and he decided to get a head of it. Check out his other literature!

This is on ebay, if anybody wants the ad. I'd love to find vintage Rolling Stone Magazines but they all dead-end, if anyone knows how to view them let me know.

It looks like a great box Radio, still pretty rare around here.

I can recommend any of the big 3 crowns guys csc 850 csc 970 csc 980 they are all similar sounding but the 970 is my fave simply because it has a propper handle, the most disapointing crown for me was the csc 950, it just doesn't have the power or the punch of the others, i would class the 970 as the poor mans m90, i actually find it has more punch than the m90 but the highs are better on the m90...get one while you can guys before the price goes through the roof and it is unobtainable like the m90 you won't regret it lads

That's kind of been my experience around here, they show up with screws bouncing on the insides like some kid tried to figure it out.....

The big ones are going for silly money now but every once in awhile a "bargain" will show up. You can try to get one from Japan but these days they all seem to have a ton of corrosion. If you priced out a similar radio, where-ever they sell them because I can't think of a lot of places, it would be a few hundred dollars but these should still go up in value, where-as a new unit won't be worth much after you buy it.

What do you mean "last entry"

That's wild how the right box is just a little bit closer but the speakers look much larger. That's an impressive wall, that cabinet looks interesting, I bet there's a cool Grundig or Telefunken in there.....

Well last entry as i won't be buying another 970 my friend, this box has many issues that will be sorted in time and it's not mint like it looked, bottom line it has just cost way to much with tax and shipping, the shipping was $350 AND MY Iimpending tax bill is £150....just insanity imho

I know shipping is a lot but that sounds like double the normal rate. You could get a plane ticket for a little more and ship it next to you. In the early days of ebay shipping was so cheap, I used to get mad when it was over $15 USD, now boxes are listed with $50 + shipping charges for little mini's.

when i bought her the shipping was not added then he sent the final bill....i almost shit the bed lol, shipping is normally $200....but i figured had it been mint and no issues it would have been worth it...i think it was £750 all in with tax

decent man4u has been spending thousands on boxes that are nothing more than bin material i feel his pain

i thought of transplanting the good deck into the other crown but sadly it is all hard wired
